If you don't mind flying into Ft. Lauderdale and leaving on Thu/coming back on Mon you can get a $202 round trip ticket on SW out of KC. Today is the last day you can book.
-
avoiding miami airport is a big bonus.
-
We did Lauderdale, fly out Wednesday and back on Sunday. Tickets were just over $200ish and we didn't have to fly Southwest (thank God).

I'm a small dude so the fatties always sit next to me because they know they can spill into my seat.

Don't be a pussy and defend your space. If you're skinny you should have some sharp elbows. Use them.

I just stare at them and say "seat's taken" like one of those kids on Forest Gump.

Or I could just spend a little more and not have to be herded like meat goats.

southwest is the best domestic airline if either your origin or destination is not a top 10 metro area. period.

I am prepared to physically fight over this, FWIW.

Criteria for "best?"

Criteria for "best?"
best seats, best flight selection, best magazine, best legroom, best service, etc.
not always best price, though. :surprised:

I guess this could be true. I haven't looked at a SW flight for 10 years. I had a bad experience with them.

if you fly enough you'll eventually have a "bad experience" with every airline.
-
It was insitutional with them. I don't like the open seating. If they changed that I'd fly with them.

lol. if you fly less than twice a year, you're not qualified to speak on this.

Well, pretty much anyone with a 2nd grade education and a computer can master that process and use it to their advantage. I love their open seating.

Don't charge for 2 checked bags. :fatty:
-
The open seating thing is much better now, with the "line" that they set up. It makes it a much more orderly process than before.

I agree.
-
don't like how SWA doesn't mix up their jets.
part of the beauty of flying is guessing what kind of plane you will get.
and most elites would call a 737 pretty small. flew a 767 from Den-SFO once and was in heaven.
-
I've never had any problems with Southwest or any other airlines, fwiw.
-
Southwest is #1 for domestics and its not even close.
Also, flying isn't that bad...except when the idiots in front of you have no clue how to go through security or pack their carry-on.
-
Yep...hate the "frequent flyer" types who think they are elite by only using carry on luggage.
-
This reminds me of a McDonalds vs. Burger King war of words.
-
god damnit. can someone notify me via textual message or something when a mother rough ridin' travel n00b contest breaks out on my message board?

see, michrustycat, part of the reason of me being on team stevedave is to avoid scorn.
