Title: Cole Aldrich = Academic All-American of the Year
Post by: OregonSmock on February 23, 2010, 04:16:31 PM
That's pretty damn impressive.  As a KU fan, I didn't realize Aldrich was such a good student-athlete.  First Jayhawk to win the award since Jacque Vaughn in '97.

Wow and he's a Communications Major to boot . . . damn impressive.

KU has a good communications program.  Why am I not surprised that you'd be the first one to try to invalidate the award?

Oh come on...while i do agree his bachelor degree in communications is far superior than your associates degree in interior decorating...its still frickn communications..

And btw, with all that huge money ku has, could they at least give some to Coles dad.  The guy looked like he rolled out of a trailer house in backwoods Arkansas..he stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the wine and cheese crowd...and im sure he had an awful trailer trash stinch to him too.  Lew prolly had his seat disinfected after the game.

Who is invalidating it . . . but you can try and tell us that ku has a good communications program, but that's the program most ku athletes are in, and quit thinking I am a dumbass.   Major conference public schools funnel their athletes into the majors that are most likely to keep them eligible and provide the least amount of academic issues.   That's the way it always has been, and always will be.

Out of the thousands of NCAA D-1 student-athletes that play basketball, Cole Aldrich was selected as the Academic All-American of the year.  What the f*ck is your problem, dude?

Cole understands Bill Self's track record when it comes to putting kids into the NBA.  Way to work hard in the classroom Cole.

Nothing is my problem.

It just tells me what a joke it is.   Tim Tebow won the same award in football and he majored in Family and Leisure studies and had a 3.66 GPA.   Aldrich won the TOP award with a freaking 3.32 in Communications.

Meanwhile there were guys who were first team with 3.89 GPA's in BioChemistry at Syracuse,  or a 3.90 GPA in Biology at Michigan State, or a 3.63 in Honors Business at Texas.  How about the kid from Notre Dame with a 3.79 GPA in Finance in basketball

If you're going to give guys the TOP award in the program, give it to guys in real degree programs, not in the "keep'm eligible" programs.

jfc, dax. just grab a shovel and bury ben already.

None of those guys turned town millions of dollars last season to come back to school.  None of those guys are the most valuable basketball player on the #1 team in the country.  Believe it or not, there's more to being a student-athlete than just being a good student.  The voters take the whole picture into account, not just the student aspect of the student-athlete equation.  Your hate and bitterness towards KU is well-documented... it's no surprise that your'e the first prick on the list to try to invalidate Aldrich's award.

So you're saying there's more to an award for the best student athlete than being a good student and athlete?     Ojeleye has a 4.0 in Business Management and has the same time commitment that aldrich has.

For the rest: Do we need a goEMAW.com GED for kstate/ksufans posters that are woefully unqualified to post here?

The reason why Ben has turned into an absolutely crap poster is because Bentard (name will stick until further notice) has reverted back to his usual hypersensitive ku fanboy self, who can't let anything go, and demands affirmation and validation for ku and for ku fanboys  at every moment.

No kidding. He seriously went to crap as a poster.
