Title: Apparently Penn St turned down Larry Brown?
Post by: Emo EMAW on June 01, 2011, 08:06:03 AM
610 was talking about it this morning.  Larry Brown called Penn State to offer his services to fill their coaching vacancy.  They told him they'd rather hire someone with more recent college bball experience.

Also, Larry is going to be dead in like 2 or 3 years.

Yeah that reeks of a Bob Knight @ TTU kind of situation.  What good is that going to do.

Bob Knight was a great hire for TTU.

Stand alone good hire for TTU at the time but they now have nothing to show for it from him or his offspring.

Yeah, well Pat Knight was a horrible hire. Who else was TTU going to get when they hired Bob?

Larry Brown is nothing like bobby knight (Knight was a far better hire). Although, if I was the AD of a BCS school whose coach just left for Navy, (whose coach just left to be an assistant at Nova), I would probably go ahead and give it a shot.

Didn't stop us from rehiring Snyder.

Go find someone who agreed with that hire and argue with them.
