Title: KU to exploit deadly disease to try to protect Paxico billboard.
Post by: slimz on May 27, 2011, 12:14:18 PM
Typical "anything goes," "win at all costs" move by the squawks.

Quote
• Heath Peterson, assistant vice president of alumni and student programs at the KU Alumni Association and a Heard on the Hill fan, passed on a whole bunch of tidbits relating to their summer activities.

Here’s my favorite one, and it relates to a rather infamous KU billboard near Paxico that kept getting vandalized with purple paint and “EMAW” letters.

That’s “Every Man a Wildcat,” in support of Kansas State University.

So the alumni association gave the space up to the university for a KU Cancer Center billboard.

“I’m not sure they will want to deface a billboard promoting the cancer center,” Peterson said. “So far, so good.”

I hope he’s right.

There is no reason one can't be anti-cancer and also anti-KU Cancer Center.  KU Cancer Center didn't do crap for me or my ball.  I say EMAW the crap out of that thing, and if you catch any flak for it, tell them Trim and his ball jar are 100% behind the EMAWification of that sign.

Well, yeah, it's not football season yet.  We don't get around to defacing it until football season.

We have to throw them a bone every once in a while so they can feel like they're still keeping up with our rapid growth.

Have you guys seen the new KU billboard that is on I-70 a few miles closer to MHK than the infamous Paxico billboard? It's on the same side of the highway as the Paxico one but it is facing eastbound traffic instead of westbound. I'm pretty sure that it's been there less than a month and it has a big Jayhawk in the middle with a picture of the crowd waving the wheat on the left side and a picture of actual wheat on the right side. Not sure if this one should be vandalized or left alone so we can LOL at the KU hayseeds.

Instead of writing "EMAW", just paint a purple meat goat in the wheat field.

Paint 12-1 a month later on the new KU wheat billboard.

It makes my eyeballs bleed, and bleeding eyeballs is something I don't need when dodging stray construction workers while going 85.
