Title: friends
Post by: steve dave on May 21, 2011, 11:40:56 PM
how many of you have met bros/brosephs via bbs?  ksufans/goEMAW/loserboards/etc.  this place is something that brings people together to meet and share stories and create bonds.  it's magical really.  drawn by a common interest and drawn further by shared ideals and lifestyles.  beautiful.  i personally use you people for my personal gain and you are all my minions but i can imagine that a lot of you have gotten stuff like that from here.  share stories here

Reunited with my old friend Scary Smart because of this board. Got to meet Dlew12 and Tyler Hughes because of it.

Got to meet Fatty once because of this board. We only got to hang out that one time, but I feel like we would get along if we hung out again.

Also, I got to see Trim and Gooch's celebratory acts after we beat KU. That was pretty great.

Yeah me and Stevsie have met.  I wish we were close enough to the point where I saw him and his lovely wife outside of So Long's a few weeks ago that I had the nerve to say hello.

Cas/Csourk and I are friends (and former roommates) strictly because of KSUfans/goEMAW.  In fact, I rushed Csourk/Cas into his fraternity house simply because he started a thread talking about being a freshman in college.  Thus, most of the people that Cas/Csourk knows at K-State, he knows, either directly or indirectly, because of goEMAW.  Wow.

Great work everyone.  We impacted his life.

I think I might be too old to party with you guys.  I would say hello if I saw any of you in public; but I would probably just be a drag on whatever social gathering you guys were having.

Unless my wife in kids were out of town.

when all of you met each other the first time, did you have to describe your appearance to each other beforehand?  how do you even know for sure these dudes all are who you say you are to each other.  FYI, I wear glasses (nice ones).  I have a solid handshake.  If I know I'm looking at a bunch of goemawers (and I have no way of knowing this), I plan on  :emawkid: or  :ck: at them to check their credentials.  If I see a responding  :emawkid: or  :ck:, I may not join you at first because I trust no one.  Just be patient, jfc.  See you at the next game or large sports-related function, guys!

I've thought about this as well. I've gotten a goEMAW vibe from a few people before but never knew how to ask. Usually goEMAW shirts are a giveaway. I've thought about dropping "95" or something to see if they pick up on it.

If you are planning to meet someone you will know them right when they walk in.  The first people I met iirc were Rusty/Clams and they stuck out because we all had kind of stupid grins on our faces when we saw each other at the bar.  Both really good d00ds fwiw.
