a few weeks ago i was in spain.  and drank mostly sangria.

they (http://www.joseluis.es) make it like this-
1/2 shot brandy
1 shot triple sec
1 shot red vermouth
some carbonated lemonade- about a half cup (like fanta lemon but i can't find that here so i used something like the countrytime that comes in a can and has bubbles)
fill rest of glass with red wine

one guy put a half shot of gin in it with the crap above.

so then last week i asked a bartender at a restaurant here in kc how he makes his-
box of red wine
1/3rd bottle triple sec
1/4 bottle brandy
1/2 to 1 bottle of grape juice
carbonated lemonade stuff to make it fizzy

turns out great.  just don't overdo the brandy.  grizoss.

The U.S. has something similar called a "punch bowl" or "jungle juice".  Nothing is measured, but it goes something like this:

1 part Grain Alcohol
Add anything sweet and red "to taste".
Add anything fizzy "to taste"

Sangria is good too.  :drink:

Love it.  Red or white.

there is such a thing as white sangria?!?  anyway, I used to get the cheap jug sangria and just put brandy in it and it tasted identical to Coco Bolo's.  Good times.

That's how the low end chain Mexican places make it.  Jug of wine, brandy, some fruit juices.  I'm not a huge fan of the stuff.  If I feel like wine, I drink wine.  If I want something refreshing (for some patio drinking, etc) there are better choices.

My friend used to cook at Coco Bolos and we'd do carafe races after the kitchen closed.   :drink: :barf:
