I can't help but laugh at all these classless posts.

I wonder if you guys would still be this classless if you all weren't so bitter... But I guess cheering for one of the most statistically abhorrent programs in NCAA history, and a program that hasn't been relevant in nearly 10 seasons, can lead to some extreme bitterness.

Regardless, there are better ways to handle bitterness besides looking pathetic by celebrating Box's death. But to each his own.

Bitterness may be part of the cause, but of greater concern is their inconsistent attitude towards death through a blending of message board anonymity and reality.

Death is, always, meaningful.

I'm glad you have pointed out the last time K-State was relevant. Your deduction skills are impressive.

But rest on the laurels of being relevant in 2003... I don't blame you, since that was the last time your program was in fact, relevant.

Again, I hope K-State can break their pathetic 7-season streak of playing terrible/mediocre football... Perhaps then some of you guys won't be so bitter towards players of a program that hasn't sucked since 2003.

Love OU fans that somehow associate personal success with that of a bunch of football players that they don't even know.  Cue: "I had class with some of the players...okay?  One of them borrowed a pencil from me."

No association, at all.

I mean, I'm all for touching stories and  remembering people fondly after they pass, but what's up with telling a story to show how 'generous' Austin was by leaving him on the court during blowouts to 'pass the ball to guys who would otherwise not score'?? That's some serious spin there, why didn't he leave the floor and let one of the 30 kids get to freaking play..

Why are there 30 kids on a BBall team anyway ?? Are they saying Austin wouldn't let the coach cut players ?? That can't be right. They couldn't of found a better story to tell about a kid who was supposedly so generous ??

The most generous thing he did was the pass the ball during blowouts ??

Venables paused and noted that Box's 23rd birthday, Aug. 10, would have been this week.

It still is this week...don't erase his memory, Venzy!  :shakesfist:

Don't want to waist 6 minutes of my life watching this.  Did they mention the part where he threw a girl out a moving car on 2 separate occasions, the multiple times he peed on the floor while in a bar, or the fact that outside of his family, members of the OU team, or the OU staff no one has publicly said 1 nice thing about him?

Nope.

The throwing someone out of a car is twice is either the best cover-up in local history or the most wide spread urban legend in local history.  Everyone down here who follows OU football has heard about it, but there is not one mention of it anywhere on the internet.

There is now, but the details are somewhat lacking.

This thread is the best I could find.  However, before I found it the rumor was always that it was twice.

Grew up with the kid. Not his first stunt. He broke into a house, stole some stuff, then returned it later with his dad(big lawyer in enid). Broke into a building downtown to party with some friends, got caught drinking. Beat a girl up and threw her out of a moving car, his dad came and picked him up before police showed up. Urinated outside of a restaurant in norman last year. And then this. He had been caught 4/5 times. He hasn't gotten in trouble yet. His time will come.
