Are a pretty good trio, amirire? Are we still playing that 4-2-5 bullshit?
Tre Walker impressed me last season (even though he had no idea where to go) and AB is obviously going to be a. tremendous upgrade from whoever played that spot last year. Who will play the hybrid spot the Rat occupied last year (heard he's a CB again)? Hopefully a bull pass rushing DE type.
This signficiant upgrade at the LB position and a deeper DL means that our secondary won't left hung out to dry as often, right?

As long as they are 5 heart players, you should be right

No, Garrett is back at CB. Lamur moved up to LB and I'm pretty sure Snyder said we were going back to more of a 4-3.

So if a guy that played SS is now called a LB, are we playing a 4-2-5 or a 4-3? :dunno:

Lamur is plenty big enough to play the will spot. (He's 4" taller and 10 lbs heavier than Buhl was.) Garrett was definitely not a LB, Lamur can be.

Schematically the defense will be played as a 4-3 and not a 4-2-5 most of the time. Granted, we brought one of the safeties up last year as a 3rd LB, but the alignment and assignments are much different for the linebackers and secondary in a 4-3 compared to a 4-2-5. That's a big reason Garrett moved to CB, he simply didn't have the size to play up as the 3rd LB. Lamur did so he moved up to a LB spot. Plus the staff really wanted him to play LB last year, but he wanted to stay at safety.

This reminds me of the 3-3-5 talk during the Rich Rod Era, jesus christ I hated that defense.. I'm getting pissed off all over again just reading this thread, and it's a different defense and a team I'm totally indifferent towards..
I hated all the tweener guys that we recruited that never really found a position and just kind of ran around the field sucking, the 4-2-5 seems like a better design anyway, especially for the B12.. Plus, there are at least a fair amount of successful D's that run it as opposed to the 3-3-5 where it was us, WVU and a few mid majors that also sucked at D..

Just admit it. After your time on this board you have to like us a little bit, if not a lot.

Well to be honest, I do find this site to be hilarious, and plus Michael Bishop played(plays??) for the Grand Rapids Arena League team.. Of course, I'm not really an arena football fan nor have I ever watched an entire arena league game, but if I did Grand Rapids would totally be my team, and I would totally love KSU for giving us the Bish (sweet nickname I just made up).. Unless Michigan has more than 1 Arena League team in which case they would probably by my favorite instead making me indifferent again towards KSU..

FWIW, when Bishop was QB at K-State I saw him sporting a Michigan beanie around campus.
