I wouldn't want to go overboard and would guess that I would go about 11.
-
idk. but more than 11.
-
25-30
-
this isn't a contest guys, shesh. if i wanted to barf up deviled eggs all day i could eat 00100 of them.
-
3-4 w/o getting grossed out
-
rough ridin' love 'em. If I was going for some sort of contest, starved myself for awhile etc, I could prolly eat like 30. In a regular setting, I eat like 4. They're so good!
-
3-4 w/o getting grossed out
-
Depends on the setting.
-
between 7-10.
Kind of depends on who makes them though.
-
i've been seeing them more on restaurant menus
this place has awesome deviled eggs http://www.hillstone.com/#/restaurants/cafeRandD/
-
here's a pic of R&Ds dvld eggs

also, i've added crab into deviled eggs before, pretty elite.
-
6or 7
-
Yeah, I bet the addition of crab would be pretty sweet. As far as bad ones go- my little bro and sister in law made them for the last Thanksgiving. Lotta salt. That's all I have to say about that. (And they used seasoning salt instead of paprika. rough ridin' noobs.)
-
I prefer white trash deviled eggs to gourmet deviled eggs.
-
depends on what kind of deviled eggs.
more mustardy the better
-
If it's my aunt's, then 10 to 12.
-

I mean, jfc...mustard? gross.
-
Eff you Hemmy.

not sure if you've ever heard of it, there's this thing called a toothbrush. dumbass. depends on what kind of deviled eggs.
more mustardy the better
mustard is good but i focus on the pickle juice.

also do you carry a toothbrush with you everywhere you go?
-
don't like yolks, can eat a shitload of whites (ca. 14; deviler's dozen)
-
threeve
-
Depends on the setting.
-
really enjoy the first 2 or 3, but good god, more than that...
-
Can eat 3-4 during a meal. My Grandpa would make them with pieces of bacon in the yolk.
-

A little (very little) jalapeno is quite good as well.
-
sounds fantastic. will try.
-
Man clams, your crab meat idea got me thinking....I'm working on cooking up a deviled egg with cream cheese, lemon juice and crab...will let you know how it turns out.
-
Some advice on the crab- don't over do it with the crab, it can over power the egg if you use too much or if they rest too long before eating them. Mine were great a couple hours after I made them but got increasingly crabby as time went by. I love crab so I loved them but can see how others might not.
-
i like the cream cheese idea too. for next weekend's load i might try to mix equal parts cream cheese/sour cream/mayo and sprinkle in fresh jalapeno.
-
Yeah, was going to treat the crab like the jalapenos. Essentially a very weak crab dip with yolks and a little relish and mustard (sweet to balance the lemon juice). Also, avocado slices.

Looks like we've got another squawk situation.

Albacore would be good.
also, I bet some salmon with a little dill mixed in would be good too.

I think you can add just about anything to DEs and they'll be fantastic if done right. Salad shrimp on top with some cocktail sauce would be fantastic if you're going the mayo route.
Possibly even a breakfast DE with sausage and a side of Tobasco/salsa. The possibilities are really endless.
-
What I don't like a lot of is the yoke mixture. That said, I have only had the mayo/mustard basic ones.
I love eggs, though and this thread has gotten in my head.
I have one I think I will try. I like my boiled eggs cooked more as a soft boil(like 6 minutes rather than 10min). Yoke is still a little runny while the whites are cooked. This weekend, I may try to do a soft boil and make deviled eggs with the runny yolk, chives, parsley, and ribeye mix.
Sounds fantastic to me.
-
Don't understand people who don't like yolks...they're the flavor makers.
-
just made a couple for lunch. thanks for the idea, guys. :emawkid:
p.s. - probably could've eaten more than two.
-
This is fantastic addition also.

bunch of dumbshits in this thread
why do people feel the need to make everything fancy? it's a rough ridin' deviled egg. pretty rough ridin' basic.

Does not work, can verify.

hey dimbledorf, do you ever make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and think "this crap is good.....but i think i'm going to add some orange slices and whipped cream." No, you just eat the eff out of the PB&J.
-
Horseradish. Boom. The Sriracha isn't bad in them either.

I have put Nutella on my PBJ before. Better without the J, though.
-
funny that dumbass OK KAT thinks that peanut butter and jelly started out as peanut butter and jelly.
it used to be just peanut butter on bread. then some a-hole decided to try it with jelly on it. and it was good so then some other a-hole tried it with honey and it was good, then some a-hole tried it with bananas and it was good.
the point is that OK KAT is an a-hole of the highest magnitude.

already covered, cns. what you do is get a dog and you eat the whites and give the yolks to the dog. boom, everybody's happy, and it's a lot easier than making the yolk mixture with the yolks.
i can eat about 14 whites only deviled eggs, which seems to be tops for the board.
-
Cream cheese, crab and sweet mustard was a big hit at work yesterday. As were the the eggs filled with shredded cheese, guacamole and bacon bits (no yolk obviously).
-
True story:
Used to hate them but now this thread is making my mouth WATER. omfg.
-
Another true story: pretty much immediately after my last post, I quit what I was working on and immediately drove to the grocery store to buy deviled egg stuff.
Okay, question. I think I know the answer, but for practical purposes we need to get it in writing. We're counting the half-egg as "one" deviled egg, right? Because I don't want to be tooting my own horn on here tomorrow saying I ate 14 only to have you assholes be like, "No man, it was only seven total eggs."
Would make me very :shakesfist: so I want to get this out of the way right now so I can destroy all of you in this contest.
Also, this thread title should be "Sitting," not "Setting."
-
yes, you're correct in how you're counting DE's. 1/2 egg = 1 DE
-
i think the better question is how many pickled eggs can you at eat the lou while out in aggieville at approximately 1am? one time i ate 6, but i think i could probably eat more if i knew it was a competition.

oh my. i might love you. what a first date that would be.

I've never had a pickled egg. They sound gross. I feel like I'd throw up if I ate 6 or more of them. I do love dill pickles. Any similarities?
-
those pickled eggs, wow. sketchy. bringonthecats, you have some major league balls trying to derail a deviled eggs thread with pickled egg talk.
that said, i could prob down 6 pickleds before throwing up. those yolks are really damn dry and would inhibit my consumption levels.
-
Never had a pickled egg, but feel like OK_Cat all of a sudden. I mean, what could be done to a pickled egg to make it good? Prob nothing...

my favorite drunk food was always jalepeno cheetos.
-
Once you are done shoveling deviled eggs down your gullet do you guys store the leftovers in your overalls or just feed them to the hogs? :flush:

Pizza>pickled eggs. Especially if we are talking Shuttle vs Lounge

True story. I had dinner at Clams place one time, and he served bbq with deviled eggs (among many other tasty items) on the side.
Also, sometimes when I go to bed at night I dream of a cure for cancer and of having a friend invite me over for delicious deviled eggs. I wonder which one of those two dreams Clams could help come true? :dunno:
-
Pickled eggs are gross. Color me thrilled that the Lou is closed so I don't have to frequent that egg infested dive when my friends want to infest themselves with eggs anymore.
-
Good question. He's clearly already mastered the art of deviled eggs but he's also pretty damn cancer savvy. :ck:

I guess that would depend on the day of the week.

Didn't they close the Lou? :horrorsurprise:

Just make sure to give clams a couple days notice before you come over so he has time to slaughter the hog and gather the eggs from the chicken coop. :flush:
