Title: Are all fountain Soda's created equal?

I favor the Pepsi from Taco Bell for some reason over other places...

The coke from those 24 mexican places is always terrible for some reason.

Yes.  This is pretty much the only time I ever drink Pepsi.  I think they put a little more carbonation in it, or something.

Other fountain soda can GTFOOMF.

They are certainly not created equal. Sometimes the Coca-Cola is far better than others. Don't know why, seems like it wouldn't be too hard to standardize and maintain the machines, but there are definitely differences depending on the day or place.

It depends on how much syrup to carbination ratio you have and if they ever "clean" the lines on the soda dispencer.

Soda I drink in, in no order, but in order of how I enjoy them:

Diet Coke: McDonalds fountain, Sonic Fountain w/ low cal cherry add in, quicktrip with cherry add in, can, 20 oz
Diet Pepsi/Pepsi Max: 20 oz bottle, fountain, can
Diet Dr Pepper: Sonic fountain w/ lo cal cherry add in, McDonalds, QT with cherry AND vanilla add in, 20 oz, can
Diet Mountain Dew: 20 oz bottle, can, fountain
Root Beer: Nu-Way w/ Frosty mug, can, 20 oz, fountain
Others: 20 oz bottle, don't trust the fountain mix

Dr Pepper from daylight Donuts (specifically the one in Anthony Kansas) is better then Dr Pepper pretty much everywhere else in the world. Dara's on 17th has pretty good pepsi.

The last time I had a mixed drink that involved coke or it's equivelant I was in high school.  now, if we count "soda water" ie Kettle & soda then I've had about a million in the last 8 years but I don't think that counts.  no cherry limeades, no fruit sodas, no root beer, nothing.

Until I was about 25 I drank pop all the time all day long every day.  Wouldn't be surprised if my intake was a gallon or more per day. I stopped cold turkey and will maybe have a diet mountain dew or diet pepsi if I'm really hungover with some mexican food but other than that I don't touch the stuff.

The weird thing is... and I can't help it.  I look down on people who drink a lot of pop now... like.. "what's wrong with you pop drinking person?"

I'm sure SD can relate.

quit drinking soda/pop 5+ years ago.  used to drink a ton.

don't drink any carbonated beverage other than tonic/soda water for ketel and pellegrino.

feels elite going to lunch and getting $7 worth of food, instead of $5 worth of food and a $2 drink.

also love looking down on soda addicts.

I never buy soda at restaurants unless i've already had 4 beers or so, then they "comp" the soda.

Angers me when my wife gets a soda or iced tea for $2.29 and barely puts a dent in it.

Cucumber is great for the first few sips.  It makes you think that you should start growing them so that you can have this like all the time.  Then you get to the bottom of the glass and you wonder, "why did I think this was so great"?

Cucumber is tricky.

Lemon, Lime, Mint(individually, not together).  Always consistent.  Always fantastic.  Never tricky.

I drink it almost exclusively with a lime (as I would assume most do.)  I will try this cucumber gin garnish and see how it goes.  I'm sure the first 10 times I ask for it they won't have it, though.

haven't had a pop (< white midwesterner lingo here) for about 8 years.

I think you are a effing liar.

You haven't had so much as a rum and coke in 8 years?  I call bullcrap.

The last time I had a mixed drink that involved coke or it's equivelant I was in high school.  now, if we count "soda water" ie Kettle & soda then I've had about a million in the last 8 years but I don't think that counts.  no cherry limeades, no fruit sodas, no root beer, nothing.

i knew there was something i didn't like about you.
