One of these guys is going to be first team All-Conference. Which one? I'll go with the season numbers, and I think it'll be Pullen. Also, since Sherron will be first team, the voters might think it makes sense to go with the K-State SG (Pullen).
Pullen has been POTW once -- Clemente was POTW twice.
Clem is averaging 16.1 ppg and 4.08 apg for the season, but is scoring better (18.3 ppg) in conference games.
Pullen is averaging 18.5 ppg (3d in Big XII) and 3.73 apg for the season, and is scoring less (16.6 ppg) in conference games.
Pullen has more steals and better 3 pt. shooting numbers. Clemente has the better assist/TO ratio, and the intangible "team leader" quality.
It'll be close. Also, I suppose there's a chance these guys "steal votes" from each other and neither makes it?

If we get 2nd in the Big XII, one of these guys will HAVE to be on the all-conference team. I think it will depend on whoever has a big game in Lawrence.
Also, Pullen has the intangible leadership quality as well, perhaps more so than Denis, so they both get points for that.

What do you base this off of?

I wouldn't be surprised if neither made it:
Aldrich
Anderson
James
Brackins
Collins
Dunn/Carter (similar to Clem/Pull)
Of the 2, I think the edge would go to Clemente, because he's been doing better in conference. There is never a given that the 2nd place team has someone on first team all-conference.

Mostly off of what I saw pre-Big XII play, so it may have changed. But he's the one who gets after players when the games not going. Yes, Denis is yelling at everyone when he's bringing the ball down and everyone responds well, but walking over to a TO and during the TO, Pullen talks to the players and Frank to get them calmed down or pumped up. IMO, a leader of a team should NOT get a technical called on them.

No, I know it's not a given. I just think there's a lot of politics that go into it (obviously), such as making sure the 2nd place team gets someone one the all conference team.

My five (not a prediction of who actually gets it, in fact guaranteed not to be the five that get it):
Carter
Anderson
James
Marcus Morris
Aldrich

Was Brackins a 1st-Teamer last year? Because if not, no way should he be this year. His numbers are down considerably, across the board.
-
If Brackins gets 1st team, it will be as a reward for coming back to school/because of pre-season hype.
-
ya, wouldn't be shocking if neither made it. But I guantee a 2nd team all big 12 player is gone be up in dis beeetch
-
both will make 2nd team. if either were as good as collins or anderson we might have a shot at a conf title.

Clemente is extremely comparable to Collins. (http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/compare?add=denis-clemente&p1=sherron-collins)

It's that clutch stuff at the bottom that's going to propel Collins to first team.

No, it's his team's record, name, and all that "winningest player in KU history" stuff that's going to propel him to first team.
