The obvious next choice after Frank leaves.  The only other acceptable alternative (who's available) would be Kelvin Sampson.

I vote oscar Pearl and oscar Shingler in the role of Dalonte with someone else in the old role of Shingler.  Then we can make oscar jokes and junk.  Also recruit good.  ok.

Since Kelvin has been out of coaching is there any chance he has been rounding up a GRCOAT to bring with him whenever he lands another job?

You have to prop him up with someone they love.

For example, at KSU, he'd have John Currie working with him to ensure compliance.  He won't give away free tickets because Currie would keep tabs on all of that stuff.

Also, to hire him, we'd have to go through the show clause procedure and prove he won't do it at KSU.  Therefore, we'd have to come up with a solid structure around him to save him from himself.

Not to mention the fact that, in the Big 12, we aren't as quick to rat on one another like they are in the SEC.  I mean, Scott Drew is still walking around without sanctions, and Bill Self has gotten illiterates through school, so I'm guessing we could provide the kind of environment to keep him out of trouble.

And with the way we shower our coaches with affection, he would eat that up and wear purple ties and purple jackets, and he'd win people over in a heartbeat.

This is obviously a very rough sketch of an outline.  I'd D. Scott it up a bit.  Stay tuned.

Couldn't you just say that Bill endorsed him during yesterday's podcast.

None of those guys know what a podcast is, let alone how to get one/listen to one, so they will have no real way to debunk it.  Say it a few times, and next thing you know one of those tards will post it as having an A- source that Bill endorses oscar.  At that point, it becomes true.

This has to be Currie's top prospect in his own mind, especially given the tennesee connection

There isn't a better coach on the open market.  You just have to have the guts to go get him.

oscar pearl?  a oscar pearl hire would lead us into the land of indiana basketball only we wouldnt have the fall back option of a tom crean, but rather a steve henson or gregg marshall dealing with stiff ncaa penalties because a coach who has continually been caught cheating was caught cheating yet again at kstate.  he is a terrible cheater.  at least calipari goes years without getting caught in between his gigs.

Maybe this should be in the John Currie appreciation thread...

Quote
oscar Pearl - Men's Basketball Coach, University of Tennessee
"John Currie's going to be a tremendous athletic director. He's been so important to our program. He's been one of the guys that has helped us get to this point. It's definitely a great hire for Kansas State."

Quote
Dane Bradshaw - Former University of Tennessee Men's Basketball Player
"As an athlete, I experienced some of the worst of times in athletics and some of the best of times. Through all of that I learned it's not just what you do as an athlete but the people that surround yourself with. John Currie and the athletic department were able to do that for me with the hire of oscar Pearl, which changed my life in a positive way that I will forever be indebted to Tennessee for."

Will he be suspended by the NCAA from coaching for some period of time?  When is his COI trial where this will be determined?

If Frank doesn't "buy in", would Pearl even an option for 2011-12?   Although, ideally we hire him after he has had a full year off from coaching and is merely a really rich guy who is exempt from NCAA recruiting rules that likes to attend AAU Basketball games all over the country while he quietly assembles GRCOAT II...

Well one of you makes fun of dead people and the other makes fun of handicapped people.

hope Frank stays, we do well, the rift between Frank and Currie grows wider, Currie pisses him off so Frank leaves since his stock will be high, then we hire Pearl who will have been recruiting his ass off assembling GRCOAT 2 and then we win it all :bracketmouse: :bracketmouse:

This photo has great photoshop potential with a purple jacket and tie.

Quick color swap of everything in the image that was bright orange.

JFC, he bled Orange.

After a year here, his approval rating would be through the roof.

I can only imagine how amazing the OOD would be with oscar Pearl here.  It would be like having 18 rock concerts a year.

oscar pearl?  a oscar pearl hire would lead us into the land of indiana basketball only we wouldnt have the fall back option of a tom crean, but rather a steve henson or gregg marshall dealing with stiff ncaa penalties because a coach who has continually been caught cheating was caught cheating yet again at kstate.  he is a terrible cheater.  at least calipari goes years without getting caught in between his gigs.

umm, yeah.  Just, eff you.

Pearl's likely best-case scenario, according to multiple sources, is to be given a retroactive show-cause penalty that would be one to two years and include this coming season. The worst-case scenario obviously would be much longer.

A source said that Pearl's camp expects a three-year penalty.

So we need to find a way to keep Frank for three more years.  Let's just cross our fingers.

Should point the finger back at that confused Summit lady.  What's she going to say, "I didn't do it"?  How the eff would she know?

So oscar has a kid to dinner, lies about it, gets caught, and boom, he is out of work for 3 years.

So what is going to happen to Frank Haith? (assuming the $10k is legit and able to be proved)
