I assume you left it out because it isn't even a competition.

well this worked out well.
Set up a poll next year.

Bobby T's is probably one of the biggest Tuck hang outs on game day, mrs. raquetcats whole extended family complete with racist grandparents always hit up Bobby T's after games. I have never really understood it, food is mediocre, atmosphere is lame, only decent thing is it's usually not a long wait.

Just a little insight into the "Reader's Choice Awards" process . . .
Most papers don't even count the votes they receive. The awards are almost always given to the businesses that spend the most in advertising. It's basically nothing more than a cheap comp system, a way to give back to the (few) places that still spend money on print advertising.
The business owners that win are usually overjoyed. They think that people actually like them. Newspapers know this.
And then they try to take advantage.
"Would you like to run an ad thanking the community for voting your business for a Reader's Choice Award?"

j rake, can you confirm this is how the "Best of Topeka" gets decided at the Capital Journal?
I thought that they counted the votes because only old people vote, and the places that win are what old people enjoy. Golden Corral won Best restaurant of Topeka several times.

I can confirm those particular awards are determined by Squawkstin Beak and whatever he thinks will best advance the gay agenda.

I thought that they counted the votes because only old people vote, and the places that win are what old people enjoy. Golden Corral won Best restaurant of Topeka several times.
Old people are also pretty much the only demographic still getting the print paper. So the advertisers who want to target old people are most likely the highest spenders in print ads.

No, the Topeka C-J hand counts all the votes. Then they double check them for accuracy. Then, because they are so concerned with being transparent and not letting their biases get in the way, they send the votes off to an independent tabulator company in town to be counted for a third time.
The problem, of course, is that the tabulator company also received a reader's choice award, and this represents a conflict of interest.
So the votes are then shipped out of state.
It's really quite a process.
