the star blows.  we've known this for some time now.  posting about is equivelant to making posts like "bill self hates black people" or "denis clemente is every woman's desire."  certain things are set in stone reality.

I disagree.  Not a lot of folks realize that the cheating/choking/awesome regular season KU program we all know today was an incredible and improbable Cinderella story.  The 1988 Kansas team had no business being anywhere near the Final 4 against established powerhouse programs like Duke and Oklahoma but they rode an incredibly hot hand to a huge upset.  Sure, it was marred by the cheating allegations brought on by hiring an unqualified truck driver to get Manning, but it shocked the basketball world nonetheless.

This is a story of the ugly stepsister who finally made it to the ball.  Today as we watch VCU play, we should remember that longshots can do it.

Simply stating that the assesment that we've seen nothing like it since Manning is a farce. Hansbrough did those things too. As much as I hate him, his tourney record was better than Manning's and his career was at least as good.
