holy f*cking sh*t.

hopefully pullen is healthy saturday.  we're going to need jamar to pull his head out of his ass and f*cking act like he's played big boy basketball before, but other than the lull we had in the second half from about the 5 minute mark to the final buzzer, we didn't play all that bad.  better than I thought.  although jfc we cannot stop the dribble drive, no matter who it is.

Don't let the last 3 minutes cloud your judgement.  They couldn't dribble drive the whole game until we backed off to avoid fouling.

Pretty sure that's the first time USU has allowed an opponent to get over 1.00 PPP since the middle of the year.

Yeah, the dribble driving at the end was kind of an anomoly.

And Taylor can drive (really well) for Wisconsin, but its not like all their other white guards can.

Hawaii had 1.18. G-town 1.17. BYU 1.13.

they never tried to dribble drive the entire game, until the last 5 minutes.  we f*cked them out of their offense most of the night until their guard just put his head down and drove to the basket.  taylor is much more physical than any guard we've seen all year.  I'll be interested to see how we handle it.

We drew some early charges and had some swats to discourage that.  We started whiffing to avoid fouling.

Wisconsin scares the hell out me.  If we want to win we have to punch them in the face early IMHO.

Jeter?

Not that he's good, but he is really physical.

Buy yeah, Taylor is good. Will be interesting to see how we defend.

Again, Wiscy is a 3 point shooting team. 35.5% of their points come off 3s, Top 20 in the country. But they don't turn the ball over. Ever.

So is Wisconsin basically the same as Nebraska except they have good basketball players?  I was really hoping for Belmont.

They're the best FT shooting team in the nation according to Ken Pom.

This will take the biggest effort of the year to win.  Period.

jeter is probably the closest, but as you point out not nearly as good.  don't think we match up well at all with Whisky, I think most of Whiskey's 3balls come from guys that are 6-8 or taller.

'zacker, kstate stopped playing defense with about 2.5 to go.  god knows why, and it was incredibly frustrating.  but the reason usu could drive at the end was entirely due to kstate not making any effort to stop them.

Obviously it wasn't because our bigs were avoiding contact. So frustrating to watch.

Closer to the 5 minute mark.

We go up 13. Allow a wide open 3. Then run the shot clock down and Pullen makes an absolutely terrible turnover (b/c it led to a run out) and a 4 point possession b/c of the McGruder foul. All of a sudden its a 6 point game, then we let the drive on us. But it started with the wide open 3 for Williams.

they play in the big 10 which means they play, at best, at a mid major level athletically.  the big 10 is terrible, except for osu.

It's hard for me not to feel that way when we're essentially facing one of the most disciplined teams in college basketball.

We've proven we can win grinders.  Sure.  But they are the King grinders.  I feel less optimistic.

Only because the rims in Madison are softer than Wally Judge.

Jake vs Taylor

 this matchup(or at least I hope I'm still feeling this way Sat night)

Obviously not a 1 on 1 battle here but if either of these teams make a play, it's a safe bet that these 2 guys had some hand in it for their respective squad.

Taylor has an insane A/TO ratio of 4.02/1. As far as I can tell, that's the best in major college basketball this year. We all know though that Pullen's had a penchant throughout his career of making other player's pretty #'s look like complete dogcac.

Really hope Jake can get all of his wind back for Sat, we're probably going to need it.
