decent time to actually reflect on carsy and his season as a qb at kstate along with thoughts heading into the season.

Carson Coffman was a terrible quarterback and anything else is revisionist history.  We would have had the same record or better with Klein at QB all season, and the football would have been waaaay more exciting.  (Or at least not like watching vomit dry.)

please explain to me how the cats could have had a better record with klein as the full time qb including which losses would have been wins, etc. i can't wait to hear this. also would like some detail on how it would have been more exciting. really let the words flow here. i'm all ears.

Why should this be a surprise; Queso had the best completion percentage in K-State history and his efficiency of 143.07 was one of the Top 5 in K-State history.

Team would have scored more than once before the first quarter against UCF with Klein.  I guess that one went down to the wire with us using our terrible quarterback all game and we pulled it out with :30 left, so I'll give you that it may not have been more exciting to be winning handily throughout the game.  I did really love Queso fumbling the ball on the 1 right before half at Missouri, that was really, really fun to watch.  What a good quarterback that CCQ was.

Now it's your turn to tell me which games that CCQ won that Klein would have lost.

UCLA, Iowa State, Central Florida, North Texas

Klein might have won against OSU. We only lost to those guys because CCQ played hurt.

Really tired of hearing this. Whoever thinks this is just rough ridin' stupid.

Who do you want taking that? A bigger QB that is used to handling snaps from center that hadn't shown many issues with fumbling his senior year, or a QB that rarely went under center and can be brought down much easier. They needed one rough ridin' yard, don't tell me Klein should have been in there.

He fumbled. Big rough ridin' deal.

why the eff did you spend half of your words talking about the ucf game? coffman played the whole game. it was exciting. kstate won.

ucf also finished last season 11-3 and ranked in the top 25. they went 7-1 in their conference and finished their season by beating georgia in a new years eve bowl game in which they held georgia to 280 total yards and six total points. their defense finished the season in the top twenty for yards allowed per game and top ten for points allowed per game.

if you are using the ucf game to illustrate how kstate could have won more games with klein as a full time starter (your thought/not mine), then you are an absolute effing clueless idiot and i will have to just throw my hands in the air and give up.  honest to god, ksu people lose 40 iq points when carson coffman becomes the topic of conversation.

This is true.   But in Big 12 Conference play, TT's defense was pretty good that year, it was their offense that let them down.    Plus that was at TT, a place where K-State has always struggled.

look. that was harsh and i'm sorry. i didn't mean it. what i should've said was that you need to sharpen your critical reading skills. yes this is something that is innate, but it can be improved upon with practice. some people just aren't as good with words and language and reading and writing and what not. you'll get better. the fact that you are on a bbs and already reading and responding in written form is a good start and shows that you are willing to work at it.

I was pretty back and forth on CCQ all season, eventually "switching over" to team CCQ.  Here's what I think, most of Coffman's success was due, in large part, to Daniel Thomas.  Defenses knew that first and foremost, you've got to stop Thomas and try to make Carson win the game.  When that happened, Coffman was generally pretty effective at hitting receivers >15 yards down the field.  He couldn't stretch the field vertically, at all, but he was hardly ever called to do that, probably because OBz and co. new his limitations.

So, in summation, Coffman was a decent quarterback who generally did a good job of exploiting vulnerable secondaries.  Carson did not lose us any games.

Way I see it, the reason DT had a good season was because teams had to fear the CCQ. DT should be sending CCQ a lot of lasagna for getting him drafted.

I think the first part of this, about Team CCQ's camp, is pretty accurate.  I'd change the second part, though.  The camp for Team Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) (which I'll take to mean Team Klein) is more like this: a bigger TV than team CCQ--let's say 28"--but it's black and white.  Or maybe it's color, but it's got a picture that is super fuzzy and someone seriously needs to fiddle with the tint knob because everything looks orange.  And the closed captioning is permanently on.  (Annoying.)  There are some fat girls, and there are some skinny girls too, but they have mediocre faces at best and not much rack to speak of.  The beer is Fat Cat.

So in summation, there were a few options this year, but I think we can all agree that either one pretty much sucks dick.

team Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) formed before klein and was not united in pumping up klein until after the UT game. usually they just wanted slamur or dt to run the wildcat like 60 times a game

They both weren't good - Carson was just the better of them. He will fail miserably in the NFL (if drafted at all). OBz will love him as a Grad Asst though.

Rick Daris is absolutely right. There is no way this team could possibly be worse now that we got rid of that loser Carson Coffman. Now it's time for ol' Bill to work his magic! :woot:

Still very  :dubious: about this.  Does World League Football still exist?  Maybe he could probably go play for the Barthelona Dragons or something?

skibens,

were you at ksu when tom murray was still there or had he killed his ex-wife by then? i took his phonetics, linguistics and morphology class and it rocked my world. weirdest, most complicated class that i have probably ever taken in my life.

I actually never had him, though some pals did.  Did it rock your world because he murdered you?   :surprised:

it was just insanely complex in a weird way. like, language in the written form is just extremely complicated in some ways and stuff i guess. we had a take home test that was all about having to diagram sentences and there were rules and you had to take them apart and put them back together according to those rules. hardest test i've ever had in my life. took me somewhere around 20 hours or so to complete it. think i escaped w/ a b. maybe c. dunno. it's was a pretty messed up class. also, he was kind of weird. interesting guy/class though.

Yeah but did he murder you?  And what was your reaction when you first heard he was in hot water?  If your reaction was anything like mine when I was in sixth grade and heard that O.J. might have killed his ex, you hung a giant sign on your teacher's door that said CUT THE JUICE LOOSE because you loved him as Nordberg.

yeah. he did not murder me. my reaction was pretty much "hmmmm. yeah, i could see that." he killed her in douglas county and i was living in lawrence at the time so it was a pretty big deal.
