Title: Meh, no big deal.
Post by: nicname on March 10, 2011, 04:18:42 PM
I mean maybe we lost an opportunity to assure ourselves a 5 seed and possibly a 4 with a win over KU.  CU has our number, they are a tough match-up for us.  On to the tournament.  A ring would have been nice, but the P66 isn't all that important.

We are a 6 seed at best now.   Yes there is a chance that we could fall to a 7 and i really don't want that.

Don't get this, they always win the P66 too.

Turns out that we're gonna play teams in the NCAA's who have good players too. If we can't play D on the perimeter, we're mumped. CU with 11 assists and 16 TO's today and still manage to shoot 58%. 58% is unheard of unless you've got a guard who is dishing in the lane and dropping dimes for easy lay-ups.  If you are interested in winning your NCAA Bracket pool, don't pick the cats to win more than a game or two.

there was a whole thread to help people calibrate their expectations posted in advance of today's game.

I was pretty disturbed by us not giving CK the ball down low more in the closing minutes.  I think he was too.

cu was sagging, like isu did during the last game. interior passing is really risky against a defense that is intent on denial.

We could have been a 4 seed. You should gaf about that. Playing to seed would have meant the S16.

I think it's possible.  The RPI certainly supports it.

We will be a 6 seed matching up with a (IMO) st. mary's, va tech, mich. st. type team.

I can't decide how I feel about this.  I hate losing of course, but lately I have been thinking how I would handle a first or second round loss in the NCAA now that they have been on a roll.  This may have helped lower my expectations for next week.   :dunno:

I'm not too disappointed. We got the seed and team that we wanted. We just didn't produce (again, again).
