At least defensively Dax's law of diminishing excuses is fully in force.
Show us something Cosh.

I'm 100% with fff. Can't wait for spring game to see Arthur and Bryce looking all sexy in purple (or white).
What if Tuggle or Sams turns out amazing this year and our defense is a little better? Tough schedule in the new Big XII, but "that's why they play the games". :ksu:
Go bearded no hair hanging out of your helmets wear a hairnet Cats!

Why not us?

I completely agree. I didn't like the performance on D last year but i could understand it given what we lacked, especially depth wise. At one point last year I think we had 3 scholie corners on the roster (1 of which was walk-on WR converted) and 6 or 7 DL, total. It was embarrassing. This year should have 14 or so DL and 6 or more corners. Better talent in some areas (crossed fingers), more experience, yada yada. No excuse not to jump 60-70 spots in NCAA D rankings though it scares me OU, OSU, and aTm has nearly everybody back on offense next season.
-
Why not can't us?
-
love the optimism see what I was talking about in the cats hoop fan thread....
maybe just maybe these kids are young and naive enough to get this thing done, just maybe! :emawkid:

very soon, this place will be buzzing with optimists and apologists.
-
We're going to suck you idiots. jeez.
-
the thing i love about this and last years ksucats football team is that i know we aren't going to be all that great and i can just enjoy the paking type stuff that surrounds a fball game and not really care when the team loses. hopefully we'll have some more good weather for the fball games. this last year was to die for.

I'm excited to see some fireworks in my favorite color....BROWN!

this. my sights are set on it. anything less would be a disappointment.

I will reserve judgment until I see the 2011 KSTATEO schedule poster.
-
I really think Hartman is going to 'turn the corner,' if you know what I mean.

Would be EPIC! Can't you just imagine paking in NYC!?! :dubious:

Super insidery source (Cas4KSU) seems to think that we might have a pretty "salty ballclub" this season. Trust me folks, this is good news.

FFF aside, i get worried when this place is optimistic. its not what we do.

Don't really know about "this place," but it's sort of my tradition to get really optimistic about things, cirlce games on the schedule as wins (like @ Baylor or home vs Okie St) and then be supremely disappointed when we lose. Also, both were somewhat close losses so then you spend the rest of the season pissed off about what could have been had the ball bounced a different way.

this place is now equal parts gpc, kstatefans, and ksufans. it's disgusting and embarrassing.

Which parts of each and would like ideas on how to fix. Ban?

Meh. As some one who was at the baylor game, we were completely overmatched. Their offense was just running train on our D, especially in the second half. HOWEVER, me and the fellas went on the field and met bish, aaron and quincy as the methodists stormed the field.
-
As the season gets closer, I get more optimistic. Usually some story will come out about why a part of our team that should be shitty, will suddenly be good. That story sells me every time.
-
I think we'll see a similar offense that puts up some good numbers (but doesn't look as awkward doing it) and a defense that might (MIGHT) be slightly improved but will ultimately still be a raging dumpster fire. The schedule is tougher, but any of these are winnable: EKU, Kent St, Baylor, MU (no Gabbert), @Tech, @KU, ISU. OSU and A&M are tossups. Would be nice to own Texas again, but Mack finally got rid of his crap assistants so I'm not holding my breath. Beating OU would be amazing, but not likely. 6-6 would be about what I'd expect, 9-3 being the ceiling, 4-8 being the floor.
I'm cautiously optimistic that we can pull out 7-5 or 8-4 since Brown will help out the LB's.
-
If we don't go 8-4 Snyder should be fired.
-
A new starting QB and replacement of the three best OL is not usually grounds for optimism. Even if the new QB eventually turns out to be good, it's hardly ever the first year, especially when they're not getting good protection.

Oh man, really need a follow-up here. REALLY NEED A FOLLOW UP!

I remember I was listening on the radio. We were working their D, too. One of those "whoever had the ball last" kind of games. But yeah, our D sucked.

Rumblings that Miami is having to move safeties and corners around because of depth issues in the secondary. Also in spring drills Jacory Harris was bumped to second string QB behind a guy that has basically no game experience at all. Add to that a bunch of Miami players who just got beat up by Ohio St. the week before and are still having to get the kinks out of a new system. Maybe even an angered up Arthur Brown gets thrown into the recipe (long shot, but would be redic if somehow he came out and destroyed junk). Delusion/optimism :runaway:
conference schmomference......LATE SEPTEMBER BOWL GAME IN MIAMI! :bracketmouse: < except with a football and little mouse sized football gear
