Probably should have been single file in the bike lane.

Critical mass sucks...but damn.
I've thought about it...but I wouldn't actually do that.
-
if you have common sense or are conservative you should hate critical mass events

I had to wiki what it was.
So the point is to piss a bunch of people off??? I'd probably nudge my car out into it, not to hurt anyone, but to force them to be uncomfortable and have to swerve or nearly fall over. Just to laugh at the first cyclist that went ape crap on me.
Cyclists are the biggest overdramatic pussies around. They always manage to find the busiest road at the busiest time of day, then scream at anyone who passes them in the lane their riding in at 20 mph. Very ego-centric people. I can see why they created this. Pretty funny

Agreed. Those critical mass guys are hilarious. The douche in the car should have to lay down in the road in front of the next critical mass event.

Thought for a minute that this was a Catholic response to the Religion thread

I love to go on bike rides, but I always GTFO of the way for cars. I tend to use the sidewalk if available.

depending on your area, you may not actually be allowed on sidewalks. to boot, bicycles are vehicles and are entitled to use of the road so all i am hearing are a bunch of people in cars whining.
-
Sidewalks are usually more dangerous than city streets for cyclists - bike paths often are, too.
I ride my bike quite a bit in the summer, and I'm convinced that 95% of cyclists and 95% of motorists are complete crazy dumbshits who don't look out for anyone on the road but themselves.
-
that has some truth to it. i think cyclists have a decent reason to only look out for themselves though considering the repercussions of getting hit. not saying its right or completely justified, but it definitely can get hairy out there. i've had people purposely try and drive me off the road for doing nothing more than riding on the shoulder. the truth of the matter is that it can get real scary real fast for cyclists, and there is little that many can do.

I should rephrase that: 95% of cyclists don't even look out for themselves. I mean I've seen countless cyclists completely ignore stop signs or go the wrong way down a one-way street just because it's convenient. They generally want to be treated like a car by having an entire lane but don't want to follow any of the rules.

that makes more sense. and i completely agree with it. if they want to be treated like cars they should abide by the rules of the road. no matter how much more fun it is to run past stop signs or ride down one-way streets.
