Was reading this (http://www.shaggybevo.com/board/showthread.php/84236-it-was-fun-while-it-lasted./page3) and the discussion came up. Most of the tejas fans thought regular season titles were all that mattered, and conference tourny's were pointless.
Thoughts?

Depends on whichever one KU wins. If they win the regular season and lose the tournament, than the regular season is all that matters and vice versa
-
It could mean a lot to Baylor.
-
Only thing it's good for is giving hope of making the tournament to teams that wouldn't make it otherwise.
-
I would rough ridin' love one. :ck:
-
They matter more than regular season conference titles. Nobody outside of your conference gives a crap about either one, but the tournament championship comes with an automatic bid for teams that weren't good enough to win the regular season title.
-
Of course they maybe matter sometimes
-
Iowa State has back-to-back Big 12 titles but were burnt out in the tournament because of it. I'd say coach your team to 2nd place in the conference, and use that to motivate them in the Big Dance.

I thought this dude summed it up well in that thread
Only two types of people care about conf tourneys:
1) Fans of teams who won't get an at-large bid, and
2) Fans of the team who wins the conf tournament.

anyone bragging about a regular season conference title is a loser.
