Title: quick question
Post by: Dr Rick Daris on February 25, 2011, 10:36:50 AM
i was just looking at the standings and realized that even if ksu beats mu tomorrow, they could both finish 9-7. does anyone know who would win the tie breaker if that happened?

IIRC, the tiebreaker in those situations is a free throw contest between the coaches. I hope Frank's knee doesn't fail us.

BITB said that we get the tiebreaker no matter what, so i'm going with that.

Would be all for this.  Can you imagine the tension.  Pack the gym during the competition.

Would be amazing.

Would be great if many other things were also decided in this manner.  Coaches contracts for example.

Currie: "Frank we will give you $10k per free throw you can make until one is missed"

a co-worker who knows just told me that kstate and mu will play a game before the first game of the big12 tourney at the SPRINT center to decide who would get the 4 seed and the first round bye. this is the dumbest thing that i've ever heard. it is the big12 though so i guess shouldn't be surprised.

Goes down to the record against North oppenents in order of standings:

Most Likely
KU
Nub
CU
ISU

We have the KU game right now.  Both 9-7, with a tie in the series b/w MU and KSU, then KSU would win the tie as MU would have had to lose to KU or Nub down the stretch.  We beat KU once, and Nub twice.  No way it can make it to the CU series.

i mean, who in the world wants to play a game just to see if they can get a bye and get this....NOT HAVE TO PLAY A GAME. RIDICULOUS!
