Time to move on from the neb game. We have more important things to worry about. Like Bill Self postponing and subsequently ruining the NBA careers of his top recruits.
Shocking expose' here:

a masterpiece. thought provoking and emotionally powerful.
-
Wish we still had Dobbie so that would land in Selby's lap
-
how did you get that shiny thing.
-
The Arthur face was the clincher for me. Just amazing journalism.
-
Outstanding. Is there some sort of ribbon-thingy we can wear or include on our profile pic to help bring attention to this tragic epidemic?
-
that was amazing...
this needs to be posted on every legitimate basketball players facebook for the next 5 years
-
how did you get that shiny thing.
Not sure what you are referring to. The bright flashes of light thingy is just an iMovie 09 Title option.

awesome job _33, felt like i was watching "60 Minutes"

OMG. I almost shed a tear.

Documentaries are great because they inform and entertain. This one is perhaps the best I've ever seen.

i'll start now.

Bravo . . . Bravo . . . :alleyoop:
I hope taking Doug Compton's money in lieu of going pro works out for Aldrich and Collins . . . well not really, but you know what I am saying.
Dumba$$ special admission player (Morris twins, not Aldrich) + desperate parents + savvy businessman booster (Compton) + head coach without moral principles = ku keeping NBA talent longer than the school deserves

The lone exception.

It's going to be making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter shortly. :fatty:

Great video.

The lone exception.

oscar Weber did all the hard work on that one. He only avg'd like 6 ppg under Self. What an idiot.

Perhaps the best youtube of this genre I have ever seen. Wow.

#1 in the country. 25-1. Just won a national championship in '08. Multiple NBA draft picks, including a few NBA lottery picks. Six straight Big 12 titles. 2009 AP National Coach of the Year. The list goes on.

How are those nba'ers doin now?.
-
Deron Williams was an all-star this year. Rush is getting a lot of playing time, and Chalmers was starting at point guard for the Miami Heat right after he left Kansas. Arthur is injured, Wright still hasn't developed a jumpshot, and Darnell is a backup big man for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Self is very good at doing things that are very good for Self
-
If anything, the success Self has been able to have without a bunch of NBA all-stars makes his accomplishments even more impressive. I can understand why K-State fans would be incredibly jealous.
-
Yes, because it's so hard to win with all of those McD AA's at the collegiate level . . . particularly when all the guys they came into college basketball with have already moved on.
On that note, it becomes quite apparent that it's really all about Bill.
UNC has SEVEN McDonald's All-Americans and is sitting at 14-12 right now after losing 8 of 10. It's not easy. The most Self has had at KU is three. Hell, Oklahoma has three McDonald's All-Americans this year, and they're near the bottom of the Big 12.
-
That really wasn't the point Ben.
Roy Williams has been a head coach for 21 years now . . . I think we can allow him to have one bad season coming off a national championship.
If it becomes a trend, then you might have a point.
Bullsh*t. If anything, Roy Williams' success at the collegiate level just strengthens my point.
-

Roy likes kids and making sure they succeed in life. Bill, not so much. Roy cares about others and is selfless relatively speaking. there are things more important to Roy than winning. Bill will sacrifice the future of young men everywhere to get what he wants.

It's his forte.

Still just amazed that Cole passed up NBA millions for Compton's hundreds of thousands.
-
Bill Self ensures that top players set aside their dreams to fullfill Bill Self's dreams, and stuff his wallet (albeit the kids get some decent money as well, but nothing like what Bill gets) . . . only seeing their NBA draft stock plummet the longer they stay at ku. This has shown to be the case on numerous occassions.
Bullsh*t. Ellington, Lawson, Hansbrough, Green, etc, all came back to UNC to win a national championship last year. Noah, Horford, Brewer, and Green all came back to win a championship at Florida in '07. You K-State powertards just don't understand the significance of winning a national title.
-
My comments have absolutely nothing to do with UNC Ben . . . nothing. But nice effort.
Oh, so now you're trying your best impression of michigancat. Nice. My comments really have nothing to do with UNC, either, 'Pad. Just pointing out that the last three national champions all had NBA prospects return to school for another year.
-
yea all those players came back for florida and unc. but unlike the players at ku their draft stock either went up or stayed the same. that is not case with ku. just look at arthur went from one and done to the 27th pick of the draft. but hey maybe he was willing to trade millions of dollars for a national championship. i wouldnt but that is just me.
-

Arthur had controversy surrounding his health. That's why he dropped to 27th. How do you blame that on Self?
-
Don't really care about the NBA anyway :users:
-
Pretty much what Chuck said. Most of the guys on the other team either stayed status quo or improved their NBA stock. While I don't pay that much attention to the NBA were any of the guys from Florida or UNC sitting in the green room all embarrassed at the NBA draft??
Like I pointed out, Arthur's stock went down because of questions regarding his health. If anything, that's the fault of his agent for not getting on the phone and setting the record straight for the NBA scouts. With Collins, he'll be drafted higher in the 2010 NBA Draft than he would have been last year. Last year's draft was stacked with point guards.... guys like Lawson, Rubio, Jennings, Curry, Flynn, Evans, Teague, etc.
As for UNC and Florida's prospects, I'd have to go back and do some research, but I did notice that Wayne Ellington wasn't selected until 28th in last year's draft. He was projected lottery coming out of high school.
-
Maybe he should have gone a year earlier Ben.
But I see it didn't take you long to get right back into "no perceived slight of ku will go unchallanged" mode.
-

nor does Seff. so that's a good thing i guess.

You wish Arthur would have left a year earlier so that KU wouldn't have won the '08 national title. That's what this is all about. Should Ed Davis have left UNC after last year?
-

Interesting statoid about HCBS & HCFM-
HCBS winning % (thru 7 seasons): .826
HCFM winning % (this season): .840
wow, looks like HCFM is owning HCBS in this stat category too.

Jesus, no one touts winning a title a few years ago like KU fans. UNC doesn't even talk about being the defending national champs. JOIN US IN THE PRESENT.

Beasley and Walker are Huggins recruits.... same way that Deron Williams and Dee Brown are Self recruits.

OK? What matters is who coached them and showcased their talent during their final year before leaving for the NBA. For Beasley and Walker it was Martin, for Williams it was oscar Weber.

no. you're rough ridin' stupid. nobody on florida's team was as highly touted as ku's players who stuck around. Noah, Horford and Brewer were all 4 stars. Green was a 3 star. Ku had; Chalmers 5 star and 12th best player overall, Brandon Rush 5 star and 13th best overall, Duh-rel 5 star 16th overall. Lets go ahead and throw the fat kid in there too. Sharon 5 star, 21 overall. Nobody on Florida's team had the projected NBA talent that KU had, so your argument sucks.

All NBA disappointments. Thanks Bill!

Arthur is injured. Chalmers was really good in his first season in the NBA (fresh out of Self's system). Rush is actually having a pretty good season this year, and has seen more playing time recently for the Indiana Pacers.

One thing that has been used against us from other schools (in recruiting) is: ‘Self’s never had a one-and-done. Why would you want to go there? They’ll hold you back there,’ that kind of stuff, which is ridiculous talk,” Self said. “You guys (media) know me well enough to know, if a guy can help us win games, I could care less (if he’s one and done). I do think there will be one thing people can’t use against us because of that. I don’t know if that will help or not. If a kid bases his decision on whether or not a young man leaves after one year, that’s ridiculous.

LMAO, it's like opposing coaches get their anti-ku talking points from goEMAW.com. Would really be a fantastic thread to throw out negative recruiting talking points for every program but KSU for our coaches.

It's the floating bobble head of ku logic.
If ku does well in the NCAA but doesn't win the Big 12, the NCAA tourney is way more important.
If ku wins the Big 12, but chokes in the NCAA tourney, than winning the Big 12 is huge, and nobody did anything in the NCAA tourney besides the National Champion.
Stay tuned . . . it can change again at any second.

The list keeps getting larger, folks. Very disturbing.
HOUSTON — Former Kansas University forward Marcus Morris is being sent to the NBA Developmental League for some seasoning, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday night. First-round draft pick Morris is headed to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in Hidalgo, Texas.
“Fortunately, we’re a team it’s very hard to come in as a rookie and play,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey told the Houston Chronicle. “We like all our young players to go through a process before they get on the floor. Marcus is someone with very high level of talent and someone we feel will benefit greatly from playing and working on his game. Our focus for Marcus is to work on his defense and offense at the three.”
Morris had been working a lot at power forward with Patrick Patterson injured. The Rockets, who are in the midst of a busy schedule, do not have a practice scheduled until next week.

good god, fodder for seff against trob

You get these kids away from the amazing coaching that is Danny Manning and they are lost. Manning is holding little bro together right now. I mean, can you imagine this year w/o him?
As far as Bill goes, pretty obvs that his motto is:
Coaching for now, not for life.
