Can't wait to see KSU on probation in two years and Martin in the AAU circuit where he belongs.
The whole game wreaked of cheating, both from the KSU personnel/staff to the officiating.
Martin has it coming for him.
we've made it to the bigtime! :fistpump:
-
Was that first guy serious? That was fantastic if not.
Kind of sad post from cbssports:
Every point counts in a tight game like this. And few UNL fans probably saw it anyway. Everyone around here pretty much follows the women's team by now and that's about it.
-
I listened to a Frank Martin interview yesterday on 810 WHB and when talking about the upcoming game with Nebraska, Frank said he's good friends with Doc. So, does Doc hang with cheats, or is Martin a cheater and a liar?

befriending of SLTHs by evil AAU/HS coaches.

That thread just keeps getting better and better as you read it.

Mark,
Sorry you seem to be having trouble keeping track of your password. Not sure why it keeps changing.
I'll contact our board software in the morning and see if they can look into it.
Anyone else having this problem?
OMG...dude got banned. Bad day for Nebrasketball.
edit: nevermind

SLTH 101
Nebraska hasn't won an NCAA tournament game, but we haven't been accused of cheating.
-
mark43 made that thread extremely painful.
-
Being 1-10 must really, really suck

I got more than the article. I got conversation involving D-1 coaches and beer. I got a very unpleasant evening with Huggins himself. When Huggins got run from Cincy it was his assistants that publicly took the fall as well. Take a good look at the reseme you just posted. Does it look like someone that deserves a D-1 head job? K-State wanted Beasley and that type of player and were willing to take Martin to make sure it happened. I like Greg McDermott (not the guy I was referring to earlier) a lot. I have drunk a lot of beers with that guy but he struggles with Big 12 recruiting. He takes risks on guys but he tells me he won't cheat. I believe him. Maybe I'm wrong, but he is another guy that curses when Martin's name comes up.
I bet he doesn't curse. I've seen the postgame vid from their win at Nebraska.
-
My god that is fabulous.
-
this bar where all coaches go to openly grouse about each other--where is it? :excited: :driving:

I assumed that was you. :dunno:

Show me a better endorsement of a coach. I don't think one exists.

when I get dirt on a high profile coach, I'm posting everything here, or on goemawcopycat.com, or goemawcopycatcopycat.com, or whatever.
There will be no vagueness involved.

"If anything, I should be made fun of for spending thousands of dollars on this website the last five years and sitting at home writing report cards and game stories instead of going out."
pretty sure he's doing something wrong. thousands of dollars???

The only way to win in big time college athletics is to occupy the grey areas. Anyone who can get great joy out of running a "clean" program just like their Pappy did, should do so. Most people derive joy from winning.
P.S. How pissed would we be if we shot 66% from 3pt., 58% overall and won the rebounding battle but still lost the game?

sys said it best once. Went something likem (probably butchering this): There are no grey areas. Just black and white. If you create grey areas you don't want to win badly enough.

NU did not win the rebounding battle.

Correct
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=300482306 (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=300482306)
Those stats are incorrect. Total rebounds were actually 29-28 K-State. official box score (http://www.kstatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=3086&SPID=213&DB_OEM_ID=400&ATCLID=204889982)
But more than that, rebound numbers are going to be skewed when the opponent shoots the way NU did. When you look at rebound opportunities, we won the battle by every objective measure by a solid margin.

You would think a school that has always sucked at basketball would take sucking at basketball a little easier. they seem really sad about us lapping them.
-
really wish someone would go in there and drop the SLTH bomb on there...or direct some of them here. Would be fun....im too lazy.
-
"I like watching Martin coach.
He makes me laugh, mostly because we get to see the melt down each game.
Nice job of throwing the water bottle on the travel call.
Also the sitting with the head on the scorers table will tightening the jaw muscle looked sooooooooo
MATURE, At least ESPN's camera angle was great.
Anyway, I'll stick with Doc and we might not be great, but at least he isn't a total TOOL."
 I'll take 7th in the nation with an animated coach over 1-10 with a bad coach (who still has more technicals than frank) any day.
-
The one guy kept bringing up Beasley and Walker as the reason we promoted Frank to head coach in order to keep the remaining staff intact.
That may explain Frank's promotion....but how does that explain how we're in the Top 10 and those two players haven't been here for two years?
I'd be pissed as hell if I were an NU fan and missed out on hitting the rolodex jackpot like we did when Huggins came here. It changed the course of this program..even after Huggs left.
Tough Sh1t Nebraska. We got the loot.

I'd probably be forced to notice the 20+ turnovers, and the 29 points off those turnovers.

the best thing is the confirmation that mcdermott is underwooding around ames telling everyone that martin cheats. i pretty much knew he was, because isu beat writers and cyfan insidery guys say it all the time, but the addition of random nu fan guy that drinks with mcdermsey in random bars puts it over the top.
also love the image of half drunk mcdermott in a bar swearing to other old, fat drunks that he won't cheat, then staring back into his beer and softly cursing martin.
-
Sometimes I look back fondly at the Wooly years and how I swore up and down that every team at the top of the conference cheated.
Kinda makes you wanna hold their hand and tell them that we've all been there.

great imagery ... needs one of these http://www.xtranormal.com/makemovies/

Truth is, all SLTH rough ridin' hate Martin because he showed what a good coach can do in short order. Kinda puts the pressure on them.

:adored:
-
I'd say Iowa State and Nebraska fans are the two most bitter fan bases concerning our new found success.
-
love that thread!
big salary for KSU assistant basketball coach = grounds for probation
big salary for NU assistant football coach = uhhh nevermind

NU fans need to STFU. Having Carl Pelini pork the wife of a wealthy donor make his presence in Lincoln that much more embarrasing.(http://)

I don't get their conviction that an assistant coach would agree to give away his taxed income to recruits. Kind of destroys any incentive to stick around the big salary offers since he could obviously get a salary at another school he could keep for himself.
Do math for me.
Salary =
minus taxes =
minus cash payment to recruits =
----------------------------------------
equals ?
Vs.
Salary
minus taxes

yeah, it's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!), that's what makes it funny.
self makes more than anderson, who makes more than sadler, who makes more than martin, who makes more than hill. draw your own conclusions.
