Post by: CrushNasty on February 21, 2011, 07:22:06 PM
Are they really that strict about a person's record to let them in?   :ohno:

I went to Canada last year.  All they did at the border was make us show them our passports and made sure we weren't transporting anything that we shouldn't have been, but even that check was cursory.  It's a breeze.

Do you have a passport?

If yes, do you automatically get in or something?

Their people, their cities, their cars, their large towers, their streets, their celebrities, their children's programming, their professional sports venues, their airports, their zoos.  Good job, Canada!  Be proud of how clean you are.  That's all I'm saying.

I thought Canada (Winnipeg) was a dump.  It seemed a lot like America, but way dirtier.

probably true.  forget what I said.  Canada to me was Toronto, and really just a square mile of it.  So what I said before, but in Toronto, and just a small part of it.

an ex and her boyfriend tried to go to canada once.  he had a small drug possession charge in his past.  they got detained at the border for three days and then sent back to the states.  she cried.  I laughed.

As a former north of the border frequenter, getting into Canada is easy.  Just don't joke about anything when talking to boarder patrol (or customs) and don't have a DUI-they don't let those types in.  My little bro has one and is labled "undesireable".
Canada -

Like Toronto very much.  Especially the West Queen West neighborhood.  Also like Quebec City and Montreal.  I've passed on going to the dumpy/bad-smelling parts of the country, thank you very much.

Oh, God.  WGAF?

What about diversions? Dude I work with is worrying about going as well. He had a dui but went through diversion. He tried to go in college and had but pay for temporary residency. Since then its been cleared off his record.

Canada rough ridin' blows huh?

It used to be that you could just go through a turnstyle at Niagara Falls, and the only folks who would question you were the US Customs guys on the way back in.

Go through the turnstyle, walk across the bridge, smoke a Cuban, and walk back.  It was a good way to wrap up your day after some business and a nice dinner and drink at the Hard Rock cafe.
