Former University of Kansas football player Jamal Greene pleaded guilty to two counts arising from a May crime where four university students were held in an apartment at gunpoint.
Greene pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated burglary and
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Another former football
player, 23-year-old Vernon Brooks in January pleaded no contest to
the same charges.
The Lawrence Journal-World reported that the men went to the
students' Lawrence apartment because they thought they could steal
drugs and money. No one was injured.
Brooks was dismissed from the Kansas team last spring before the
crime, and Greene was kicked off the team the day he was arrested.
He played football last fall for MidAmerica Nazarene University in
Olathe.

LAWRENCE | Kansas wide receiver Chris Omigie was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office's Web site.
Omigie posted $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Lawrence Municipal Court on Feb. 16.
A 19-year-old native of Arlington, Texas, Omigie will be a redshirt sophomore next season. He played sparingly last season, making seven catches for 73 yards.
Jim Marchiony, KU's associate athletics director for external relations, said that Omigie is still a member of the football team and that any discipline will be handled internally by KU coach Turner Gill.

Maybe he'll share a cell with Tank Reese.
