Now let's hope Frank will actually play him for the rest of the season.

If he played D, he'd be on the floor a lot more.

But that really shouldn't set him apart from other players who suck at D.

Amazing watching him while he was on fire.

Probably has more upside of Irving and Spradling. But apparently just won't listen to what's being said during game preparations.
Thought he had given all he was going to today before he missed his last few open shots.
Also, got to question why Spradling was playing defense the last two possessions. Irving was still available.

no one played D.  We need points, first and second, defense third

Russell is very slow reacting to someone's first step.

Yeah Russel doesn't like to play D, but damn it's nice to see some shots go in.

That's pretty much it.

I'd accept the "Russell sucks on D" talking point if the rest of our team wasn't struggling on defense.

The bottom line is that we need his offense.

I'm starting to wander into 'who gives a crap' territory with how guys practice.

We need to start winning some damn games.  Russell can create his own shot on offense.  He's one of four players on this team who can do that.  And one of those four is Peterson, and he barely plays.

It's time to get Russell more involved.  If we don't want to massively suck next year, he needs to get playing time and get better.

Should be noted that McGruder's stop on Garrett to get us the ball back, down only 1 at the end, was absolutely huge.

About the only good defensive play of the game, but it was made when we needed it.

SMART smart play by McGrubs to make sure to not foul.

I don't think it's so much lazy in practice as not listening to what is being said. Apparently, coaches instruct him on tendencies and whatnot and he doesn't apply it during games.
I think this pisses Frank off more than anything.

You just know that at least once in last 2 months Nick heard it wrong

unds -  "Vic get in the game"
Nick starts to take his warm up off thinking the team needs 1 one of the 3 guards in the game that can make a play on O
unds - no not you Nick, we need Vic in the game right now, he will be in the right spot on D when his lack of talent gives up a basket
