I spoke to my friend that works on these sort of things. He said he sees this type of thing all the time and he would be willing to fix it but it would be about $2500. Let me know

lol. i just talked to my friend who actually does this for a living and owns a shop that specializes in repairing blackberries tell me that for 1,000 dollars he is willing to guarantee that he can fix it and if he can't he will replace it free of charge. chicats guy isn't even willing to guarantee his work and he charges more than twice as much. what a ripoff.

Pffft, my guy is a Blackberry Certified Repairman and aced the test to achieve this certification. If you knew anything about BCRs, you would know that all of their work is guaranteed not only through himself but also through Blackberry. But no, go with your bargain basement hack that will give you back your blackberry back with rubberbands and bandaids holding it all together

Buy a camera and just carry it at all times. That's prob cheaper than these Bb repair gypsies.

Google Blackberry 8300 factory reset, do that (it will delete all info, so back it up first), then connect to your PC and update. That ought to do it. If you are still screwed and an AT&T or TMobile user, I have an HTC tilt you can have for cheap until you can get a new phone. PM me and let me know.
