Hating this.

maybe irving should try harder in practice. practice is what counts, not games. not games. practice.
-
Irving sucks
-
Irving sucks
No worse than Spradling. Pretty sure he's better.
-
This talking point is getting old.

the fact that you're pretty sure, at best, just shows how stupid you're being.
-
The practice talking point is pretty ridiculous. You practice how you play. Irving gets a couple of hours in practice to show the coaching staff how good he is. He only gets a few minutes in a game.
-
Irving sucks
And Spradling doesn't?

does it matter what variety of meat you put on your turd sandwich?

To those who think it matters if Sprads or Irving get more minutes.

:bawl:

i like making fun of sprads, so i hope he practices his ass off and gets even more PT.

Do you honestly think Irving is worse or just as bad as Spradling?

I believe this wholeheartedly. Spradling can at least handle the ball. The difference is so small, however, arguing over this is stupid.

their stats are remarkably similar. sprads does turn it over more.

Ditto what MichCat said. The difference is slim. At this point, we need a point who can dribble. This is the biggest reason Will is playing more, IMO. Also feel Irving's defensive prowess is overrated.

Irving is significantly better on D. Also black and looks like p. diddy.
No contest.
-
Of course Sprads turns it over more, he handles the ball a much higher percentage than Irving in the minutes he plays. Other than that he's better in pretty much every measurable category.
That said, Sprads does need to cut out the terrible turnovers and I would like to see Irving play more. To me the argument is Irving or Russell and the only reason Russell has played more lately would seem to be that he is 3" taller.
-
if someone has to get run, I hope it's irving rather than russell. can you imagine the pace of our offense next year? or our offense in general next year? will "pushing it" up the court is like denis walking it up. and then once will gets past half court...i mean...my god...

Meh. Each brings a different skill, I like Irving's ability to get to the rim and score plus hit some jump shots to go with Russell's length and nice pull up jump shooting. Plus I believe if you keep both it's likely one develops into a better player by his 3rd year in the season.
Also, I think the Sprads can't push the ball talking point is over done, and I don't think he's incapable. He pushes the ball fine, he just doesn't try to penetrate like Pullen, and I'd say half the time that's a good thing. It's not like Sprads will force us to play at 65 possessions a game or something.

sprads usually flattens at the arc. we kind of need a pg who can go to the rim with it, or put it at the rim. to be good we do.
and then as I said, there's like nothing for him (or any pg) once they get past half court. jamar will have to find a consistency he's never, ever had. mcgruds will have to find his game on the road, and we'll need someone...anyone to step up at the other guard spot. and wally, if he's even here, will have to play like a 3* instead of a 0* player.
-
Irving getting 8 minutes is ridiculous.
Irving being the 12th Wildcat to play on Saturday is even more ridiculous.
I defend Sprads and says he needs his minutes. I feel the exact same about Tay. Very frustrated his minutes have gone down here of late and just flat pissed off guys like Peterson and Myles are getting on the court before him.
I like that Southwell is getting some playing time now, but he played 30 min vs Tech and played like 16 min in the 1st half vs Mizzou. Too many minutes IMO.
Take out Jake and Gruds minutes and there is probably 57-60 minutes available (perhaps more if we use 4 guard lineup) for Irving Sprads Southwell and Russel. Just seems it is an impossible chore for us to get all 4 of those guys consistent minutes to be contributors to this team......... ya know like each guy getting at least 10 minutes each game.

Wow. I mean...really? You should cheer for Massa Seff's team, Cletus. A Spradling vs. Irving minutes comparison is a completely Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) choice of subject for your outrage, Jimbob.

keep both
Like that's going to happen.

he's not.

well there you go. knowing that, it's no wonder you made such an erroneous statement.

I have seen him try to play defense, though.

i bet it looked a lot like you trying to backtrack.

I hope Frank doesn't run anyone. Its not like we've got a couple 4/5 stars lined up to come here. At this point the best option for K-State basketball is to keep as much continuity and experience in the program as possible and hope that players develop and buy in.

I'm fine with him running just one of the sophomores.
