Title: Thoughts
Post by: Acceleration Man on January 22, 2011, 03:29:51 PM
Well... I'll say this. The seniors finally played like seniors tonight, and this was maybe the best overall defensive effort we've had all year. It was really the lack of options on offense (McGruder, where are you?) and the fact that we couldn't keep our mits off in the 2nd half. Maybe the fact that we are overall a young, inexperienced team could account for most of it.

It's frustrating, because we could've had this game and if we hope to get to the NCAA we're going to have to win a few of these from here on out, but it felt a lot more like a hard fought game than a stupid loss.

 :frown: but not  :curse:

Everybody on the team is stupid, and that is the problem. They couldn't score, so we let them do so by committing stupid fouls, sending them to the line.

How in the eff in one thread you say the issue was a lack of offensive options, but then in another thread say having Southwell, Spradling, and Peterson in the game at the same time isn't a problem?  Are you bi-polar?

Let me see if I can spell this out for you. Listen carefully. Pullen & Kelly stepped up today, but no one else did offensively. The normally somewhat-dependable other options were non-existent (Gruds and Samuels). The guys you're pining for (Irving & Russell) combined for 17 minutes and 2 points. You have no basis for an argument that more minutes for these guys was going to give us any different results. Let me say this again. Pullz and Kelly scored for us. No one else did. Not "your" guys and not "my" guys. The stats and gameplay show nothing to support your argument. Got it? GET IT!

I'm not pining for Irving and Russell, I'm pining for Frank not to have three guards on the floor at the same time that have averaged a combined 11 PPG, along with a big averaging about 5.  Do you think that had an effect on the offense?

Dillards. Blame them, I'm feeling better already.

Really, if Pulls/Kelly are not suspended we have at least 3 more wins, maybe 4. Granted, that's counting on both playing like they have post-Dillards.
