This whole season has felt like Wooly ball.

Awkward "stand-on-number" style offense, large halftime deficit, chipping away to get close/create hope, then pissing it away with about 5 minutes left.  It's like a blueprint for every wooly road game.

59 points was the biggie with me. we can't score (like wool's teams)

is completely changing your offensive philosophy in the middle of the season slth or anti-slth?

tards will love all the moveyness of the new offense, plus the cuttyness of  it though.  at least during wins, they'll love that.  assuming they can see anything beside fts, of course.

I don't know.  It reminded me of the offseason switch to the flex.

I actually kind of liked it, because it seemed to lead to quite a few Pullen drives, which is about as good as it gets for this crew.

good comparo.  whether it shows admirable flexibility or a lack of faith in his own system, it stinks of desperation.

Desperation for Frank would be switching to a zone or something. Spreading the floor so Pullen can drive more just seems like smart basketball. Plus, losing a big means we need more offensive options for 4 guard line ups.

maybe.  it probably fits the kstate personnel ok when samuels and kelly are both in.  not sure about when they're not.

i mean, thinking back to the preseason, everyone was trying to stuff samuels into the 3 so we could play three bigs.  because we supposedly had great bigs and only one decent guard.  now we apparently are going to go with four of those guards on the floor at the same time for significant portions of games.

Think about our offensive strengths; one of the main ones is hitting threes. Makes sense to me to get more of those shooters on the floor, plus the bonus of allowing more driving lanes for Pullen.  It's not like it's going to change the TO problem that much.

Not real rough ridin' hard . . . you can't score when you throw the ball away 24 rough ridin' times, and you can't grab the rough ridin' basketball during crucial moments in the game.

Really disappointed in my friend CrustyMcMichicat in this thread . . . embarrassingly low BBIQ.

we didn't take many 3's.

We only took 47 shots. It's hard to shoot when you turn the ball over.

that makes sense.  though i'd think that you'd get more quality threes out of an inside out offense.  this seems more like it benefits the guards that can drive a little.  which maybe partially explains the switch from irving and spradling to southwell.  you'd think russell would be even more logical.  i wonder if any journalist will ever ask about him.

The one thing that was very Wooly like (besides the losing) was the complete inability to run a rough ridin' fast break.   An astute observer of K-State basketball, like me for example, recognizes true regression in Woolyesque basketball when he see's it.

Would love to see if Wally could be more sucessful in the new offense.  He never looked comfortable with his back to basket.  95 could also be a big lift with the open lane if he can stay on the floor.

Excellent Point . . . time for Captain Dillards to see more pine and for Wally to be on the floor more.

Drive and kick. Plus, we should still get plenty of open looks if we aren't turning it over.

And Southwell is pretty much taking just Nick's minutes, maybe a few of Irving's tonight. But Sprads and Irving still got plenty of minutes.

At this juncture I am all for a little more "roll the ball out there" and a lot less Frank actually coaching.

This requires Doc Spradler to see only spot play standing on the 3 point line.

Why?  They actually seem to be getting a little bit better.  Pity Frank didn't decide to start coaching during fall workouts.   :curse:
