Texas State: West Virginia offensive coordinator Jake Spavital has accepted the Texas State head coaching job, people with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s oscar Feldman. The Austin American-Statesman first reported the news. Spavital spent the past two years at WVU, calling plays this year for the No. 9 scoring offense in the country. He had previously been the offensive coordinator at Cal and Texas A&M. The 33-year-old has also coached at Houston, Tulsa and Oklahoma State. OK State offensive analyst Bob Stitt is expected to become Spavital’s offensive coordinator, Feldman reports. Update: Texas State has confirmed the Spavital hire.
I'm not all that impressed with Dana. We could do a lot worse, but I don't see him ever winning the Big 12.
Yea we could do a lot worse than Dana (and probably will), but it woudl be hard to get excited about him because you know what you're getting...a moderately successful coach that probably won't go all that far ever. I'm probably a higher risk taker and would like to take a higher risk on someone that could go farther.

But still this is also arguably his most successful season.
dana brings the entertainment/zanyness factor that many coaches lack

A couple random plays going differently and they'd have won it this year.
Urban Meyer would be a pie-in-the-sky dream coach for KSU. I hope his health improves and he can get back into the game. He's good at what he does.
he's a piece of crap human and I hope he never coaches or gets paid to appear on TV ever again
