No comparison to the Joe Paterno ending, but sort of.
Beloved coach tainted forever by end of career stupidity and actions.  I am surprised that Snyder is not getting hell for chastising a black kid.  I am sure Zuber is gone.

Next year will be horrid is Snyder stays.  Last year we got to a bowl on a end of game miracle against ISU.  Not by the KSU way.   The mystic of Cat Football is dead.   Hopefully it is not too late to regain
Never return to Futility U.    Snyder has set us ironically on the path to become it again.

Please refute as I want Snyder to leave as a ledgend.
Consider this from Football scoop.com 2017
"So, yes, there’s a reason Paterno and Bowden are the appropriate examples when understanding the dynamic between Snyder and Kansas State. Those three coaches are the only three of the four men to actively coach as members of the College Football Hall of Fame’s coaches wing, and each built his respective program from fringe activity into a cultural and civic institution. Paterno and Bowden also saw their tenures meet horrifically ugly ends, and it’s possible Snyder’s story ends the same way in Manhattan."

yesterday sucked. i think KSO has good sources but they may be reading too much into what they're being told. because i bought it, and then reached out to my sources who were very coy with their responses, which in my head confirmed something was happening. we all probably need to chill.

This is true. I read Matt's stuff on KSO, then TX confirming, then got a DM on twitter with more confirmation. It seemed like too much for nothing to be happening.

We didn't need the "miracle" against Iowa State to make a bowl.
But don't let facts get in your way.

Stay strong, Bill.

it sounds to me like sean may be winning hearts and minds behind the scenes.

Would this be an even greater Miracle in Manhattan if they pull it off?

I think at this point I'd rather Bill stay or Sean get the job just so I can see the meltdown from the lame ass cornballs at KSO. I would take 0 out of the next 15 to see the reaction of the people over there who have made Bill leaving the most important thing in their lives.

Steffy makes a good point about wins last year to go to bowl,  but ...
The downward trajectory is obvious, and at what point does the Cat family say enough or become horribly divided.
I would not support Sean as HC.  I think it would tear things apart.  See what bad coach hires have done to KU.
I guess the bottom line is $$$$.  Would you buy a season ticket for next year if Bill stays on or Sean is HC?
All of my points are mute if Bill retires gracefully.  I have my doubts he will.

How an exit is handled can mean so much.  Done ugly, Snyder''s legacy could be tarnished, and the fan base divided.  Frank''s departure was ugly, and messed up that fan base.  Retire and he can avoid tearing us apart and harming his legacy.

renocat, I had this vision last night of what the atmosphere would be like for Bill's last game at BSFS on 11/17 if the retirement was announced sometime prior to game. It be an electric buzz of good EMAW feelings and appreciation like we haven't experienced since 12/1/12. Bill still holds the power to heal and unify the K-State family with his exit.

I hope.  I was at the game where he got win 200.  I admit that cried.  He means so much to us.
The next coach needs a handoff in an atmosphere of love.  If so, I think the administration might be willing to give a hotshot assistance from somewhere to be HC like they did for Snyder.
