Software thread(computer related)
« on: October 09, 2014, 09:59:43 PM »
So what is the best software for x situation?

I am getting tired of using paint for everything, now paint is cool and all but I'm pretty sure it's not the best for manipulating images.  _33 what do you use for your vids and photos?  I think chunkles and Dual Ju  would also be great contributors to this thread.

Thinking about investing in photoshop cc.  Not really a fan of the business model they changed too but w/e they are BITB.  Also this thread is for any software suggestions, not just my own needs.

maybe try gimp. it is free, so that's good. kind of sucks compared to photoshop, but better than paint. also, free.

i find inkscape useful for certain things. free too.

Photoshop isn't any easier to use than gimp, but there's a video tutorial online for just about anything you want to learn how to do.

yeah i mean i havent really invested the time into gimp.  maybe because i know photoshop is far superior and is worth the time to learn.  having the multitude of products from creative cloud at my disposal i would put in the time and watch the vids to really make it beneficial

Yeah Gimp and Photoshop are both hard to get used to but great when "mastered"

After some tutorials, I liked adobe premiere way more than vegas for video editing. Photoshop is so deep it's almost too much to handle

i haven't used gimp in like ten years but it seemed fine in most of the basic tools you'd use to BBS with 90% of the time, like layers and the pen tool.  the concepts/"difficulty" are similar in my casual opinion

i mean paint is fine for bbs stuff, most of the stuff i make is just for fun.  using photoshop and premiere and stuff would be non-bbs related for the most part
