Almost everyone is firmly and permanently entrenched in the caveman era of paper money so that's why there's not much interest or response.  You might as well post detailed Crossfit regimens or reasons to become a vegan - there's simply not enough people on here interested in it for it to become a thing.  I barely understand this stuff anyway, maybe I need to go revisit the "WTF is a Bitcoin" thread.

I imagine crypto will be embraced and used more in the next 50-100 years after the United States has crashed and burned or something.

the real answer is you love crypto on a level no one else on here does.  I see it as an opportunity to throw a small amount of capital at that could blow up in a way I can’t replicate anywhere else. I would compare it to cars, most people dgaf about the quasi rocket engine that’s a marvel of engineering, they just want it to go fast and ride smooth.

Oh yeah I already know that.  Guess price is that significant for anyone to care here, which I totally get too.

https://www.technologyreview.com/s/611153/specialized-chips-are-threatening-to-take-over-cryptocurrencies-and-they-look-unstoppable/

That article is only from May and Bitmain is in trouble.  They just IPO’d because they have been hemorrhaging cash(north of $500 million) because they sold all their BTC for Bcash.  Bcash is straight trash and is gonna have a chain split in less than 2 months.  Bitmain did just release a new ASIC but they could be mumped.

Seems we like politics much more than sports anyways.

I don’t care that you don’t get what’s appealing about crypto, you don’t want to know, which is also fine.  If you lived in Venezuela or Greece or Zimbabwe maybe then it would register but probably not.

I think we all understand why you find crypto appealing. If you want to think it's because we're all too stupid to "get it" then you do you.

I didn’t say that, I just think FSD and stunted are too stupid.

Mocking aside you equated Bitcoin and crypto to PayPal.  A third party settlement system that controls your funds is the exact opposite of what Bitcoin is.  Not surprising mocking me is the best you could come up with when challenged on your stupid assumptions.

https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-enterprise-alliance-hyperledger-blockchain-consortiums-join-forces/

That is very interesting.  Ethereum as a whole is showing that not everything needs to be a decentralized application.  There’s also maybe a few hundred people in the world that can coherently write smart contracts in solidity on Ethereum.  It’s also very hard to write smart contracts, which is why there haven’t been many successful ones written yet.

I have actually done some stuff with Hyperledger and Sawtooth.  I’ve even deployed a 3 node Sawtooth private blockchain on Azure.  The smart contracts are written primarily in JavaScript and their focus is on supply chain management.  It’s being implemented in the fishing industry in the South Pacific to help combat poaching and fisherman using slave labor.  The fish have RFID tags attached to them to correspond to their primary key on the blockchain that get scanned at multiple places.  Once the fish are filleted a QR code replaces the RFID tag that customers can scan at the market.

I think standardizing may help bring more people and industries into it.  Should also help expand the number of SDK’s for more languages than just JavaScript and Solidity which will include more devs.  The interoperability will also help take some of the load off of Ethereum and allow private blockchains running Sawtooth and the other Hyperledger blockchain implementations to absorb unnecessary load.

As far as I know tho Joe Lubin still hasn’t agreed to terms with Jimmy Song the bet he made at a blockchain conference earlier this year.  Maybe he finally will now that the platform just got more versatile.
