it still sucks quite a bit, unless Justin Timberlake is hosting. He could make Sophie's Choice a smash hit comedy.

ok, so i don't think we have an snl thread so i'm making this one. this is it and we can start with recent stuff.

after 2013 and the best of show tonight i'm thinking that we will be getting a full on jimmy fallonesque 2014 full of taran killam, but who knows i might be wrong. overall i'm not sold on him, but i will say that the below was one of my favorites of 2013.

i pretty much like everyone EXCEPT taran killam - for some reason he gets my inner "sunny_cat jacob pullen" complex going.  i do enjoy him in period pieces though

kinda got distracted and forgot to record tonight :(  will watch later.  i think it's pretty strong lately FWIW

It's interesting how they choose people.  I saw the show that Aidy was pulled from to join SNL in Chicago a few weeks before it happened.  She was good, but there was another girl in the show who was killer.  Had the whole audience going and had diverse characters.  Aidy seemed like a background character.  I was kind of blown away they took her.

Was the other girl similar to Aidy or was she more like one of the other cast members? Aidy does a great job of filling her role on SNL.

I don't think she was like any of the girls.. she reminded me of Molly Shannon or maybe Sheri Oteri.  She had quite a range though.

Honestly, I don't really like any of the girls now but Cicily is growing on me.

Keenan Thompson is my least favorite. He plays the same black guy for every character and it only works for "What's up with that?". Which I actually really enjoy so probably keeps him from being my least favorite now that I think about it.

Also the opening skit when they had the black woman from Scandal on was pretty incredible.
