Kansas State Football / Some proposed rule changes
« on: February 12, 2019, 09:43:39 AM »
https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college/college-gridiron-365/os-sp-college-football-overtime-0130-story.html

Some talk of changing OT -- 2 point conversions from the outset? Eliminating kickers entirely in OT? Offenses starting 10 to 15 yards further from the end zone?

Also, Bowlsby quoted in relation to proposed change in targeting rule. Sounds like it'll fail, because the officials aren't supportive, but they are considering (again) a two tiered penalty. Less severe targeting would not result in ejection, more severe targeting would result in ejection.  I've seen some questionable ejections for targeting the last few seasons, this two tiered system seems to make sense. The committee meets in Indy at the end of the month.

Kansas State Football / fake good program to the south
« on: September 10, 2018, 12:19:05 PM »
A loss to USC would really be entertaining this weekend. Regardless the Horns will go into the 2019 season with national prognosticators claiming they "might be a top 15 team" that "Tom Herman finally has turning the corner". Jfc...I can't stand Texas football.

If Tom Herman goes straight Tiger like Charlie Strong did when things went bad, that'd be great too:

Effing Birkenstock's, that was your problem Charlie.

Based on what's been covered post spring game in Waco it sounds like they'll have a pretty softish front in a 3-4 and anyone that can run the ball should push them around. Their secondary looks fast and quality, but how likely might this season's KSU Cats pull off the upset of the Bears? It's getting rough ridin' old losing to these Baptists who were lucky to be pulled into our elite conference anyways. Can we ball control them to death or will they just score all day, e'ry day no matter how much we control the clock with the running game? Or, will we just suck and I'm getting my hopes up?

Signed,

2016 KSU Cats LFBIQ guy

Will we win all remaining home games? Convince me.

It seems Wildcat nation has suddenly shifted from complete depression to we're gonna win em all! on a dime. Or, maybe I'm just a hater.

Josh Pastner let go at Memphis in next 1-3 yrs. We drop oscar, sign Josh. Who's with me?

How in the hell did Jamari Traylor get a scholarship to play basketball in Lawrence? He's like a dumber, bigger mix of Vulture and Hot Horndogs.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / oscar Weber fake tough guy

Did you see that performance from oscar going into the locker room?

But really, KU apparently fouls about half as much as every opponent in Allen Fieldhouse.

12
Only half joking.

13
I'm taking the over. We're a bunch of self hating hayseeds who'd rather get a "cultural fit" than a coach who might get us deep into the tournament. 3/4 of our fanbase are fake basketball fans anyways.

14
oscar turns over nearly entire roster after year 3. Cat fan response - "Well, it's good we got those bad seeds off the team, now oscar can really play with guys that want to be here."

Rumors of half the team quitting if Frank is retained. Cat fan response - "Well, he had to go. The whole team was gonna quit on him."

In my fit of anger and drinking during that debacle in Morgantown tonight I had the pleasure of encountering the following bullshit talking points:

1) If we were in the SEC we're definitely a tournament team.
2) If 'insert player name' just decides to work hard in the offseason he can be all conference.
3) Don't forget that half the team was going to walk if Frank would've been retained.
4) These guys have potential!
5) You know, oscar is dealing with 10 newcomers, give him time.
6) If we had Marcus Foster and Nigel Johnson we'd be salty.
7) We only won 17 games last year but were definitely better than 10-15 tourney teams.

It's like some large section of our fanbase has battered wife syndrome. We just cannot call things what they are, instead we keep finding excuses to invite more abuse upon ourselves. STOP people! It's time to STOP! We're rough ridin' awful. We're missing the tourney this year. We've got inconsistent vets combined with young inexperienced players. Next year we'll still have inconsistent vets, with sophomores. Great, so maybe we'll make the rough ridin' NIT. And we still have man boobs Big Meat pretending to be a post player. We have one legimitate big man. ONE! (In my best Dan Hawkins voice) this is Big XII basketball man, if you want to roll out one post player and seriously have a chance to win, go play intramurals brother.

But my all time favorite is oscar apologists still trying to pretend like this is an improvement over Martin. I hate that opinion more than I hate Big Meat's man boobs.

Apologies if this has been covered in another thread, but I'm finally getting around to reading up on the NCAA sanctions for WVU (mostly run of the mill illegal texting) and apparently the dumbfucks in compliance there didn't know how to click the update button on their software that tracks compliance rules/violations. It took the software company to update it for them. JFC guys.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/12342966/west-virginia-mountaineers-athletic-department-gets-2-years-probation-recruiting-violations

"Additionally, the school did not fully understand how to use compliance software it purchased to monitor phone and text activity," the NCAA said. "It wasn't until the software company updated the software that the school learned of the violations."

Kansas State Football / Recruiting, relative to the rest of the conference
« on: February 23, 2015, 09:20:02 AM »
Recruiting outcomes, relative to others within one's own conference, for 2015. Bill's class is over 1/2 of a standard deviation below the conference average. I have to think this would hold over time, considering we seem to land about the same in the recruiting rankings in conference every year.

http://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2015/2/11/8008017/ohio-state-florida-state-boise-state-football-recruiting-2015

Considering our success on the field, Bill remains a golden god.

Baylor has o-boarded about half their misses in the first half.

Jevon has the offensive awareness of a 4th grader. (And I'm someone who sees value in Jevon defensively)

oscar's insistence that we play so slow makes us even worse on offense against the zone. We're consistently a count slow moving the ball.

Tre Harris has the slowest feet aside from Big Meat.

I'll probably switch to liquor come Monday v. KU.

Helluva game in Cameron Indoor tonight. Even more "impressive" is the way ESPN is over-covering the game on Sportscenter. The way they force feed this crap to the masses gets really old.

On another note: I think I'll just cheer for Altman's Ducks until oscar is gone as a way of preserving my mental health and not letting oscar put any more permanent scars on my soul.

23
I'm hearing Nigel will transfer, that the coaching staff has decided he's not major conference quality, and they're going to help him land softly somewhere else. Anyone hearing similar?

24
Fescoe going on and on this morning about how he just cannot understand Cats fans who cheer against KU. Also whining like a rough ridin' toddler about how he cannot enjoy Kansas basketball wins anymore. That he is relieved more than excited when they win.

eff off Bob. And I haven't even brought up the juvenile level commentary he seems to think is comedic.

It's the 6 am podcast this morning on 610 for anyone wishing to take a listen.

Yet, half of this god damn board is satisfied being a football school that in 3-4 years will be lead by head coach Sean Snyder or whomever ADJC decides is morally righteous enough to be our coach and placate the deep pocketed donors.

We can have nice things! We're allowed! Its happened before! Let's stop acting like some combination of self hating/ignorant/hayseed middle Americans and demand something better. If oscar doesn't sweep UGA and aTm, it's time for a banner. For you, for me, for emaw.
