K-State has 4 permanent sports venues without video/LED displays.    Now, it is a little dumb IMO that neither B-ball nor V-ball have VB's considering how "down market" high quality video displays are these days.    But with that said the current set-up of the baseball stadium, track, and new soccer fields would make it very easy to have a mobile video board truck.    Simply create a spot at all venues to pull fiber and power to, roll up and plug in.   For example a spot to roll the truck up to and hoist the board up over the left field wall at TFS could easily be done, for the soccer field you wouldn't even have to leave the drive between the fields and TFS, the outdoor track is easily accessible as well.   You could put all kinds of K-StateO signage on the truck, and the software and necessary apps for each sport for statistics, event finishes (track) and such all already in the can and readily available from vendors.    K-State doesn't host that many outdoor track meets, but when the conference meet rolls back around, you just bring the truck in.    Obviously the truck would be the better choice, not the skanky trailer, you could even put it in the parking lot on football game days to show promotional stuff, other games etc. etc.    With HD video panels coming way down market and with the modular nature of the panels you could get years of use out of it.

It really is. I was obviously kidding about soccer but its kinda embarrassing that the baseball and volleyball facilities don't have video boards.

I'll throw an attaboy at John Currie.   For a fledgling soccer program they've walked into a pretty decent set up.   I saw on Twitter the coaches lauding the new pitch.    It's a decent set up for the stands which everyone is emphasizing are just  temporary.   The wrought iron fence and new limestone pillar entry is a nice touch.   Really not bad for a first year program in terms of venue.   Hopefully they can move the timeframe for the baseball/soccer building up, and find the funds to build a permanent stadium/stands structure.

That's kind of what I was thinking at first, but . . .    Texas did that, but I've seen where Texas now wants to build a separate soccer stadium.    It gets a little tight if you have all the field (of track and FIELD) stuff inside the stadium and a soccer field as well.

build track a new facility away from the other complexes and renovate the outdoor track just for women's soccer.

It doesn't take away from the fact that it was a very dumb idea to begin with.

Yeah it's dumb to try to utilize an already built stadium that could use renovations as is.

I'd like to leave the soccer stadium in that spot, and just make this one gleaming wall of limestone down college avenue from BSFS to the soccer stadium. 3-5,000 seats should be plenty sufficient.

Agreed, for a completely new program, it's a pretty solid start. Hopefully more founder's club member join, and it builds up especially with all the extra $$$ coming in from the TV contracts. What is it, two years before they officially become part of the Big 12 soccer circuit?
