So I was doing some searching and actually found the blueprint for the new soccer fields on the KMAN website (if they were posted I missed them).

http://1350kman.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Soccer-Renderings.jpg

So, I guess I need to ask, just where do they plan to build permanent dressing rooms, and I'll assume at some point soccer will get it's own mini-Vanier.   Where are they going to put that?   The only place I see is on the South side and that's where that old house that facilities uses is located.

no idea.

Yes but that theater thing and welcome center already got put in motion, also too much Rec/general public use happens on that field.

There is lots of space at Brandenburg which is garbage and close.  That has to be the next step.  For now, they will use the baseball stadium facilities for both concessions and locker rooms.

No way old stadium was going to happen, it was slated for new welcome center and theater.

Don't know, but the fund raising began in earnest four or five years ago.   Bosco was talking about it years ago.

I'm not going to freak out because I know this is all a start but this "stadium" seems half-assed and Iowa State small timey.

Then you better look a little closer.    The only school in the Big 12 with an on campus stadium that looks even remotely big time is Texas, and that was built to preserve the Texas Relays with a soccer field in the middle.   Even the national powers had to produce years upon years of championships to get upgrades.

Yeah, basketball had to wait years to have a practice facility but let's dump millions into women's soccer right out of the gate.  :rolleyes

Dear Tobias,

This spring has been an exciting time for K-State Soccer and we wanted to update you on all the recent developments to the program. Between hiring a new assistant coach, finalizing the home schedule, and signing 28 players to the roster, my staff and I have been working hard to prepare for competition this fall.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The home schedule for the inaugural season has been finalized and we are excited to host four home matches in the month of September. Our first home game will be against Northern Iowa on Friday, September 16, the night before the football home opener against Florida Atlantic. This will be the first Wildcat Weekend of the 2016-17 season! The following week, we host Oral Roberts on Friday, September 23, and South Dakota on Sunday, September 25. Our 2016 home slate will end with UMKC on Friday, September 30.

Those of you with purple or platinum Founders Club memberships already have season tickets for both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. If you have a white membership and want to add season tickets, please call Tony Cappellin in the ticket office at 785.532.7681 to upgrade your membership.

In just over a year since the launch of Founders Club, we have more than 1,000 members representing 28 different states. We appreciate your support and belief in our young program.

We are extremely excited to play our first four home games in front of a large and enthusiastic fan base. Strategically we have scheduled matches on home football weekends to give our fans and players the opportunity to enjoy some quality soccer in our first season of competition.

Details on the full schedule will be released soon.

In January, we announced an addition to our coaching staff, assistant coach Jessica Smith. Smith joins current assistant coach Gabe Romo on the first staff at K-State.

Smith served as an assistant coach on the KU staff from 2011 to 2015. Before she joined the KU coaching staff, Smith coached at various levels in the Kansas City Metro area, including as a varsity assistant coach for both the boys' and girls' teams at Olathe Northwest High School.

For more information on Assistant Coach Jessica Smith, click here.

As we prepare our team for competition, we are also in the process of preparing our home field for our four home games this fall. The home of K-State Soccer is just south of Tointon Family Stadium off College Avenue. While we have been patiently watching the grass grow, we are excited for the opportunity to play on real grass this fall.

We continued to fill out our inaugural roster and signed 28 new student-athletes this spring. The signees joined the roster of seven to bring the total to 35. The current roster of seven used a redshirt season in 2015 to prepare for the upcoming 2016 season.

The staff and I are very excited about announcing the 2016 recruiting class. This is a group of quality young women, both on and off the field, a group that should integrate nicely with our returning roster of players. We filled several areas offensively, defensively and in the net. It should be a great group to work with, a group that is coachable and committed.

For more information on the current roster, click here.

We look forward to training camp in August and the future of our program. Thank you, again, for your support of K-State Soccer and we look forward to seeing you this fall.

Go Cats!

Head Coach Mike Dibbini

i wonder how long he worked on that signature design.  i like the cut of his jib, takes a lot of balls to make the dots without the i's.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Are we really far behind the curve on a women's soccer team?  I kind of have dreams of this being our first national championship sport.
