i've come to the conclusion that seth is probably the best. thoughts?Lol, wut?
yeah this is just a bad opinion. seth does nothing but fallon retakes.i've come to the conclusion that seth is probably the best. thoughts?Lol, wut?
The late night crowd needs Dave Letterman to come back and calm the waters. When does Colbert start?
Fallon is great. He is great because he is taking simple ideas, games, and skits and putting them on his show. It's the type of change late night shows needed and it has proven to be extremely successful. It also helps that all celebrities love him and he can have whoever he wants on his show. Fallon is killing it. I'm also excited to see what Colbert does.

It's weird tho, cause everyone is saying Fallon is awful and I see these awesome skits that ppl post from the night before of Fallon on facebook of something hilarious/great that happened and I never see any other late night ppl posted on FB from their greatness. :dunno:

The constant boring celebrity conversations is what was killing late night. Even Conan couldn't spice it up enough to stay on the network and force Jay to an earlier retirement. Getting celebrities to come in and play games as well as talk about their upcoming movie/album allows fans to see a side of celebrities many don't get to see. I agree that Fallon needs to keep it interesting by changing up games, skits, etc. Some really funny crap has come from these random games that have gone viral.
willie cause willie the wildcat you guys.:runaway: Ms. Wackys friend who posts "Gronkzongas" has a dog name Willie. JFC, Rowdy, you're scaring me!

RD did you see their Christmas card where they're all doing the wabash?
Fallon has the best intro music.well fallon has the roots so yeaaah thats basically by default
I miss Aggie though :frown:
daris' take on what makes late night shows tick is is pretty radical. he's the tea party of late night viewers. what a nut.
They're not there to see their old pal Jimmy/Conan/other Jimmy; they're there to plug their product.
most important attribute: the host has a great personality and you'd like to be his friend or the host is bitb at fellating his guests?
Daris: i'll take the second one.
i mean what on earth?
I could watch Fallon giggle like a school girl for like 3 hours. However, I do have 40 year old house wife tendencies.

people that don't like fallon having the best time doing whatever he's doing have a problem in their brains.
i think he really thinks it's funny.

he's not having the best time ever, he's fake giggling and acting weird to save the moment because the moment needed saved. it's the cheapest trick in the comedians handbook and fallon uses it constantly and with impunity. now if that's your thing then knock yourself out, but leave those of us that aspire for slightly more than a whoopie cushion alone.
jay leno is and was shitted in trash. just THE worst.Yes. The worst.
read a book before bed instead of watching any of that garbage and you'll probably be able to fall asleep easier then you can catch the good segments on youtube the next day without wasting precious minutes of your meaningless life with your peepers glued to the picture box turning your brain from lumpy gray oatmeal to melted useless sloppy ice cream.
Fallon is musically talented. He is funny. His guests like him.
Yeah, that is all horrible. I wish Andrew Dice Clay had a late night talk show.
Gonna win 'em all!
okay, what is the joke? Why are bread and I on the same page?Fallon is musically talented. He is funny. His guests like him.
Yeah, that is all horrible. I wish Andrew Dice Clay had a late night talk show.

he is very talented. it's really something.
jason schwartzman is another one. i mean holy rough ridin' crap that guy.

daris doesn't read unless he's on a plane.
if you move to the east or west coast you'll never watch a late night show again. still wish pete had a show though
daris' problem is that he actually watches late night shows at night. we've solved the problem. stop doing that rick.
Remember all those sketches Fallon ruined on SNL by laughing well before the punchline was delivered? That was awesome and now that he has his own show he has potential to ruin every single moment of it by laughing. Great stuff. He made the skit better, by doing that, dummy. Some of the best highlights of SNL from that era was Fallon cheesing it up in the background. You people!

I didn't watch the interview
I find him easy to like and I think he's adorable. :dunno: I watched his first show ever and he was super nervous and awkward and I just feel like he's came a long ways. Maybe that's my thing, I'm comparing him now, to his first show. I felt really bad for him. He was sweating, stuttering, and blanking out.
This is a trap thread. Rick made this thread just so he could bash on Fallon. :frown:

In my opinion it was time for letterman to go. Because if you watch a show of his from when he first started to his last show it was the same rough ridin' show every night.

Like i said definately a generation gap. To me every new host should be innovative in some way. And push the boundaries not stay inside what they knowIn my opinion it was time for letterman to go. i mean this is pretty stupid and not true, but ok. also letterman was like fallon in that he completely broke out from what was being done at the time, although he did it with true snark and not fake embarrasment and giggling which i have some appreciation for.
Never watch these things, but Craig Ferguson was the best, based on clips I've seen on youtube.

That's so Greg.
I like Fallon. But I never watch the show, only the clips on YouTube.
Jeb Bush was just on Fally. He did not tell the story about the time he held the door open for me.
I didn't even follow what was going on, but it seemed like Fally was just acting like a huge, charming racist.
Channing Tatum. I don't really know who he is, but I know lots of people think he's pretty great.

Colbert has an original voice/point of view. Makes you realize that Fallon is merely an algorithm constructed from test screenings.

why yes, chum1 and rick daris, i suddenly agree
i never watched colbert on his last show but he seemed to do better last night once he drug himself out of his monologue and had a guest in front of him

That bit with the cursed amulet and the Sabra hummus was weird and not funny.

I laughed at that bit harder than I have laughed at any late night in a loooooong time. Like since Letterman was not mailing it in.
so what do you guys think about bitb seth making the move from a standing opening monologue to a sitting news type thing opening? two thumbs up so far from this late night reviewer.
do you dvr it? can't imagine staying up to watch seth meyers on a regular basis
you should reconsider that, seth deserves better from his #1 fan
New Colbert was virtually no departure from Colbert Report, so I liked it, but 5 hours a week is asking too much.
let me tell you something, this Seth Meyers does a damn good monologueyou should reconsider that, seth deserves better from his #1 fan
Not a fan. Im like the siskel/ebert of late night tv. Very informed. Neutral. People should trust my opinion.

Once the undisputed juggernaut of the late-night category, Mr. Fallon’s “Tonight Show,” a celebrity-friendly cavalcade of games and gags, has seen its ratings decline in recent months. Meanwhile, his politically pointed competitor Stephen Colbert, who hosts CBS’s “The Late Show,” has closed what was once a formidable gap of nearly one million viewers.
