This thread reminded me of the "FIRE COSH" sign that appeared during a game at Bramlage. Carry on.

Still wish Pringle would have stuck around for his senior year, but this is pretty cool. Really hope he makes it.

Not that K-STATE0, but snapped this pic yesterday in Chicago. Bonus points for double powercats
Even Has KSU on a non personalized tag  :surprised:

That looks like an RL sticker in the corner. Super late to the party, but a buddy who lives in Manhattan told me once that Riley County requests all the KSU plates. No idea if that's actually true, but I've definitely seen tons of KSU plates in Manhattan.

Anyone have any insight about the juco LB we added over the weekend? I know at least one LB left (Hughes?) but is our depth worse than I think it is? Juco additions this late always worry me.

Dunno how "back" it'll be, but quotes like these are definitely reasons to be excited.

“They are doing some different schemes and giving us some different looks, which I think is very good for us,” K-State sophomore quarterback Skylar Thompson said. “We are so used to how Coach Hayes orchestrated the defense and their schemes and stuff like that you kind of get photograph memory.

“On this formation, they are going to do this play. You can kind of look at the nickel safety and say, ‘OK, now I know what coverage I am getting. With Seiler and Norwood, they are doing a lot better job of mixing up different looks and disguising coverage and bluffing in and out of stuff to make it hard on us, which is how it is during a game. It has been great.”

“He will throw in some new wrinkles to the defense that will make everybody turn their head,” Tanking said. “I am looking forward to what changes he makes. I think you will find the K-State defense to be a little less predictable. I think a lot of tendencies we have had in the past will probably get broken.

“I think there will definitely be a lot of different stuff on first down. Nothing against Coach Hayes, but I think he had gotten into a bit of a routine and teams knew what to expect on first-and-10. We mainly ran a Cover 4 and that put us in a tough spot when teams would get seven yards on every first down. With how smart Blake is, he will throw in some stunts and run defense that will be a little different and better, instead of just falling back into a base defense.”

Kansas State Football / Re: Bowl Projections

Three new bowl games approved for 2020, via McMurphy. Chicago and Myrtle Beach likely to be hosts. Third site TBD. We'll have 84 bowl teams that year...

10
9/1/18 vs. South Dakota W
9/8/18 vs. Mississippi State L
9/15/18 vs. UTSA W
9/22/18 @ WVU L
9/29/18 vs. Texas W
10/6/18 @ Baylor W
10/13/18 vs. Oklahoma State W
10/27/18 @ Oklahoma L
11/3/18 @ TCU L
11/10/18 vs. Kansas W
11/17/18 vs. Texas Tech W
11/24/18 @ Iowa State W

I'll say 8-4, but I have no idea what to expect from Mississippi State. I like that it's at home, but would like it in week 3 a lot more than in week 2. Also won't be surprised if our luck finally runs out against Tornado Bird, especially in Ames.

Trying not to get my hopes up too much (I know it's spring and every team thinks this is "the year"), but the more I hear about the offense opening up, the more excited I get.
This excites me

@kso_FAN think we might see some GT counter stuff that OU does?

I don't know why it annoyed me so much more than normal. Maybe because I thought we had more weapons than we usually do, but QB draw every other play was especially painful to watch last year. Small sample size, but the two plays we ran right after the rain delay against TCU were a pretty good representation of how mailed in our offense looked. Delton kept it up the middle, then rolled to his right and chucked it out of bounds. The game was still within reach, at least on the scoreboard, and the coaches basically got a free halftime and did NOTHING with it.

Hard to believe we were ever that bad.

We weren't.
This is correct

It still blows my mind that we won more conference games during the Reagan presidency than they won during the Obama Presidency....AND WE ONLY PLAYED 7 CONFERENCE GAMES VS THE 9 KU PLAYED FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE OBAMA PRESIDENCY.

Not sure I'd have believed this if I didn't go check the numbers myself, but sure enough...

K-State from 81-88: 9-44-3 (.186) - Assuming a tie counts as half a win like in the NFL.
KU from 09-16: 5-65 (.071)

Even if the ties don't count at all, it's still not even close.

Was just reading an old Meek story from the fallout of the secret agreement. Bored and can't sleep. As a last-ditch effort to void the deal, Krause offered to take out a life insurance policy and name Ronald the beneficiary. I remember this whole thing being a damn cartoon, but I'm not sure I'd ever heard that detail.

Kinda morbidly ironic, given how everything turned out...

The whole thread was named for that.

"Ron Prince Stories?"

Ha, oh. I'm new(ish) to the board and haven't really dug into any old posts. Ignore me.

If you could lift up the rug on one of K-State's "mystery" stories and have access to every single detail, which would you choose? The Venables fallout? The Ron Prince napkin agreement? The Jamar Samuel receipt? It's Patterson? I'm sure there are others I'm not currently thinking of, but I'd really like to know how that stupid receipt ended up in the compliance office.

So pumped.

Did K-State really make a tourney poster with Marcus Foster on it?!?!?!

That just might be the most K-State0 thing EVAR!!

Ha, no, I'm just bored at work.

If he has already graduated he wouldn't have to sit out

Didn't realize he had graduated already, but I just saw that in the story by Kellis. My mistake!

I like that he has two years to play.  Dishon is an obvious lock and hopefully Davies will take the jump from role player to starter in his second year in the program (he too will be a junior).  Wiley got minimal game action and Huggins red-shirted (I think).  So, Mittie and our juco Moore will have a good shot to break into the rotation this season and possibly start this year or next.

I'm a little confused about his remaining eligibility. His Texas State bio says he redshirted in 2015, then played the last two years. Wouldn't he have to sit one of this final two years, or did I miss a rule change?
