I've always thought it was strange that in this day and age we still use the word "Indians" as we now know it was used just because homeboy thought he was in India. Granted, Cleveland Native Americans doesn't have the same ring to it.

Somehow associating the tomahawk chop with Indians is less racist to me than associating it with native Americans.

Civil war is fine, kind of boring.

I did like how they framed what the war was about and it took a while to get there.

Have not seen, but what lead up to California and Texas somehow being aligned?

The president was a fascist who was on his third term and conducted drone strikes against US citizens. I think they used those two states in an attempt to make the movie apolitical.

Replace the chopping motion with a milking motion.

maybe the royals wouldn't be a small market team if their fans would actually pay for whatever channel is required to watch them, good gracious. now more than ever they need you to stop being Midwest Cheap

Maybe the Royals should have made a deal with a channel that is still on sports packages of providers that people subscribe to.

If they want to move to Kansas, we should make them choose a less racist name.

Wish I got Bally sports

I thought Amazon came to some agreement and it's all on prime now?

Only if you are out of market. It's bullshit.

I'm glad he's finally stopped pretending to tolerate gay people

He probably doesn't have a reason to now that Common killed his gay uncle.

This has been known to billiard and dart players for generations.

Also, certain message board posters.

Poker, slow pitch softball, backing babes, the list is basically endless.

Someone needs to produce and market a “slight booze buzz” pill

Has the opposite impact on kickball players

Those guys hit their 3rd beer before the first inning is over.

I donated to a political campaign for the first time ever, and now it won't leave me alone. I already gave you money, bish.

There never will be a year where shitty people don't contact you with their hand out now.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's RRR?

One of the better movies that I have seen over the past few years. I think it's still on Netflix.

12
Watched Civil War. I liked it, but I wish there was more explanation as to why California and Texas were fighting together.

What's the last city to win a Super Bowl and World Series in the same year?

14
The real give away is the IRS being too stupid to go after rich people. They aren't, just come on why do you think they aren't. And then blaming poor people. As if going after one rich pos won't be the haul of 10k poors.

Poor people don't owe income taxes. The only reason you might go after them is to tell them that they are owed a refund that they forgot to file for.

15
I think they probably end up with Underwood.

You can't name your team the Chiefs and then get upset when your fans want to act like Indians. If the Chiefs don't like it, they should change their name.

18
Yeah, when I think tax cheats, I think of poor people.

Damn. He was the only one looking for the killer, too.

20
Yeah, books that don't have plots really shouldn't be movies.

21
Baylor will match. He stays at Baylor.

Baylor can't possibly match, but I don't think they have to. I'd say, here's how much we can increase per year, how much goes to you, how much to staff, how much to nil?

If he stays, he'll have a shot at another title or at least making another final four in the next 5 years, they're renaming buildings and streets after him, he gets a statue and the Drew name is cemented in history. If he goes, he has some cash and could possibly destroy his legacy.

Baylor can match because Drew is worth a whole lot more to them than he is worth to Kentucky.

22
Yeah, no way Baylor lets themselves get outbid.

23
The "victim?" You guessed it. Frank Stallone.

24
Drew would be stupid to take that job.

Seems weird to build up a program to be a perennial top 20 team, win a Natty, and bail for another program.  How often does that happen?  I don't think very often which is why I don't see Drew leaving Baylor.  Seems like he has a good thing going and he can be there as long as he wants with limited pressure from fans/AD/UP.
This is true but Baylor is arguably the "lowest profile" school to win a championship in recent memory. Villanova is probably the closest comparison?

Not sure school's profile matters anymore if you have NIL support + fan/AD/UP support.  I think this is why we have seen some hall of fame coaches retire in the last couple years.  I don't think Kentucky/KU/UCLA/Duke/Michigan State/North Carolina names will continue to hold the weight they used to.  The "name" is no longer needed to bring in great players and contend for titles.  The last two years represent the new NIL landscape, and I don't think many of us would have predicted not a single Blue Blood (UCONN is now BB though) making the FF.

2024 FF Teams:
Bama, Purdue, NC State, and UCONN

2023 FF Teams:
SDST, Miami, FIU, and UCONN

I think long term, NIL support will be more closely related to profile. Higher profile/blue bloods will win in the NIL/Portal era.
:nono:
NIL money will be king, program pedigree will be down the list of priorities for top recruits.  What WILL be a deciding factor is the number of players the program that land in the NBA.  McDonalds All-Americans don't go to Lawrentucky because of it's atmosphere or tradition, they go to KU because KU have a lot of players that make it to the NBA.  When the number of players KU puts in the NBA declines, so will recruiting.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying, I just expect that in the long term NIL money and program pedigree will be more closely related than they might be now.

The turning point will be when schools are able to pay their players directly. Schools outside of the Big 10 and SEC can keep up with NIL, but they can't keep up with tv money.
that tv money that you’re talking about is already spoken for elsewhere.  so for your scenario to play out, something will have to give.
Like leaving the NCAA or changing the NCAA’s required number of sports.
They don't need to leave the NCAA. They already field more than the minimum number of sports and they will cut some of those to maximize what they are able to pay players.
