For you old school Cats, this is Jack Hartman all over. Great coach, game passed him by, recruiting sucked, got sick, insisted on continuing, program dropped to crap.
-
Defense did a bad job getting off the field after the first 2 drives (1 play INT, 3 plays Punt).
8 of the next 10 drives they drove the ball at least inside our 30. Those 8 drives took 69 plays. Then they scored the 2 TDs from 25 yds in OTs. Texas was 8 of 13 on 3rd downs in those 10 drives (plus 2 OT drives)
51 pass attempts. Few more where QB scrambled on Pass Play. And ZERO sacks for Ksu.
1 area we did well was shutting down their RBs. 20 carry 59 yds for the 3 RBs. Unfortunately that was about the only thing the D did well.

Poor Lynch Mob. It's dead and gone

did anyone ever look up the penalties? i couldn't find it last night

Ksu 7-70
UT 3-30
We had the Roughing the passer, false start, and I think 5 holding calls (4 for sure)

I know we're too busy feeling sorry for ourselves and acting like these dudes owe us something to talk about the officiating, but WOOF :Yuck:

it cost us the game, on both sides

The roughing the passer call was terrible. I had forgotten about that one.

He made some contact to the helmet (not much) but that rule only applies to NFL, correct?

i think they need to use common sense, how many times did their qb lower his head on scrambles trying to run people over? we won't get many qb penalties simply for how our offense is ran, can't have it both ways...
and to answer your question i think he got called for his hand coming down on the qbs head but it was bang bang so I'm not sure if it was roughing or personal foul. either way how in the eff can you stop mid air, this isn't rough ridin' airbender

Are you talking about the play where the qb was standing in the dead center of the pocket, threw the ball out of bound short of the los, with no reveiver on that side of the field, and didn't get called for grounding? Yeah, that was a really bad roughing call.

I think on the very next play Wood or Ball beat the right tackle and went to sack the qb, but the the RT grabbed the back of his jersey and pulled it just long enough (2-3 seconds) to allow the qb to escape for another first down.
Pretty remarkable that was missed considering the referee (could have been back judge) used his x-ray vision to get Dimel and Beechum on holds in OT2.
