No wonder little sister's athletic dept can't even get a mention when it comes to B12/PAC10/B10 conference realignment. No one in their right minds wants to align themselves with these scumbags/deviants.
And kudos to Turner Gill, who, when faced with two kids who were obviously struggling in life and facing problems, cut his ties to them and told them to hit the road instead of offering help and guidance. I wonder if he noticed they weren't paying enough attention during their BELIEVE chants...
Jayhawks charged with 5 felonies
LAWRENCE, Kansas – Two former University of Kansas football players face five felony charges after allegedly robbing four people at gunpoint last week inside a Lawrence apartment.
Jamal Greene and Vernon Brooks were both charged Monday with one count each of aggravated burglary, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated robbery.
Court documents alleged that Greene, 22, and Brooks, 23, were carrying at least one handgun on Friday, March 14 when they broke into an apartment in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street and ordered four people to the floor.
The men spent a short time inside the apartment before fleeing, but nothing was taken from the apartment.
Greene, a defensive tackle, was on the Kansas football roster until shortly after the news broke Friday, when KU coach Turner Gill announced he had been removed from the team. Brooks was dismissed from the team prior to spring practices for violating unspecified team rules, the university said.
Police say Brooks was arrested shortly after the incident when he was pulled over by the University of Kansas Police Department and Greene was apprehended without incident later Friday morning in the 2300 block of Murphy.
Greene, who was suspended twice during 2009 for separate violations of unspecified team rules, played in nine games as a defensive tackle during his junior year in 2009.
Brooks had a court date set for May 27. Greene’s next appearance in court was set for June 10. Both were being held Monday on $100,000 bond.
