also recently picked up running recently, SB. always thought i totally hated it, but after teaching myself to just run nice and easy, it's pretty okay.
i use the nike running app too, and put my iphone in an arm band which i place on my right bicep. looks great, feels great. will hit 100 miles on my next run.
ran a 5k (not an actual race, just on my own) in 27:11 a couple weeks ago. longest run so far is 6 miles, at a 9:23 per mile pace.
i will be running the Rock the Parkway half marathon in April. hoping to go under 2 hours. will take some work.
