I'm going to let Mean Gene's upcoming lifetime extension for Hughes do the talking for me

A lot of you owe Pete and apology
Coach Clark towed the line and didn't give me much. I know he's not the happiest but them making the tourney will make him happy he didn't say more to me. Gene and CK didn't have a problem having an early bloody. They spent most of their time with the big donors so didn't get a ton of time with them. I did however like "sped". He's damn funny and glad we have him recruiting. The courses were amazing!
Just wondering what the 2.7 billion dollar NCAA settlement does to KU's stadium plans? Many schools are changing or dropping their stadium plans.
Gene isn't making any move, my brotha, so might as well hope for the tournament and a lucky run.
why not? There is not objective measuring stick that pete hughes doesn't suck
Good news, we’re getting the living crap kicked out of us. Like we love.

“Mr. June" Pete Hughes knows exactly what he's doing
KU threw their mid-week starter with a 5+ ERA and we scored 1 run. After that, they threw mediocre arms until the 9th when they put in their closer and we still couldn't plate more than 1 run - largely because our situational hitting is terrible (10 LOBs).
We threw our bad mid-week starter for 3 innings and then our best pen guys the rest of the way. And, we still lost.
We'll face WVU or TCU tomorrow (we lost the series to both 1-2). The only way we don't lose is if Boerma throws a gem and/or the sleepy bats we've had for the last month wake up.
Lose tomorrow and it'll be surprising if we make the tourney because we'll likely have an RPI in the 50s and three of the four other Big 12 bubble teams (Cincy, TCU, UCF) will have better RPIs with KU potentially surpassing us as well.
From the fun fact department - it would be interesting to know if an NCAA head coach has ever had at least one player who would become a first round draft pick on his teams for five straight years and fail to reach the NCAA tourney a single time. In Hughes' case, it's 2019 & 2021 (Wicks - no tourney in 2020) and 2022, 2023, 2024 (likely Culpepper).
Our RPI isn't going to be in the 50s. We've been in the middle 30s for 2 months.
I think we go 11-1, win the CCG, get a bye, win that game, lose semis to UGA or w/e by 2+ TDs. We use that as motivation for our year next year when Avery wins Heisman and we go 16-0
I would consider sacrificing my first born to make this happen.
Have we obtained any receivers that can run routes and catch balls yet? I feel like that's going to have a bigger impact than our OL this year.
Would have been nice for Fritch to get some commentary from some of the athletes Rovelto coached over the years...Is there an assistant somewhere with connections to Jamaica? They could lure elite talent here and turn KSU into a cradle of sprinters.
Regarding the new hire, I'm hoping we see something better from Mean Gene than we've seen with some of the other Olympic sports (baseball being the worst example). I'd love to see him go for a top assistant at one of the premier programs. With the potential for elimination of partial scholarship sports in the next few years, there's a huge opportunity for programs around the country to become true players in track/XC.
Pt 1: What the hell was Mean Gene thinking when he hired Pete Hughes?
Pt 2: What in the eff was Mean Gene thinking when he gave Pete Hughes an extension?
Pt 3: Why does Mean Gene hate K-State alum/heart throb Rob Vaughn?
Pt 4: Will Mean Gene fire Pete Hughes from the golf course and let you listen on speakerphone?
I actually might be able to get some of this info from Coach Clark. We'll definitely have some drinks together. #3 is cued up my friend.
K-State doesn't have anyone entered in the Men's decathlon at the Phillips. What is going on?
