I've never heard of a person (under like 75 years old) dying from being outside when it's hot, so it's probably not very common.  Have heard of people freezing to death whilst outdoors.

i used to hate the heat, but you just make an effort to get out in it every day and you get acclimatised really quickly... i just take the top off the jeep, and thanks to infrequent rain keep it off until september... you get to cruise around top down whistling at phillies and you no longer shrink away from a hot day like a dog from a vacuum cleaner
