Ron Prince Stories!
« on: June 19, 2013, 10:50:12 PM »
Had a vendor at our company customer appreciation night tell me that he got into it with Ron Prince at a summer football camp.

Said he was sitting in the NEzone getting ready to watch the football camp because his kid was there and that Ronald walked down the path and fingered his shoulder and said " what are you doing here?"  He said he explained that he was there because of his son and all and that Ronald said " I didn't ask you that" "now what are you doing here?"

Vendor guy said he got into it with him and that he told him who he was (member of a big donor family) and that he needs to understand who pays the bills and keeps the the machine rolling and all.

Vendor dude said this was 06 and that he saw the writing on the wall then.

So you guys got any good Ronald stories or is this too much of a touchy topic?

I remember when he wore his cowboy hat and boots when he talked to Wyatt. God I hated him

Whatev. You only hated him because he was a shitty football coach. If he was a great winning coach all these things would be beloved quirks n such.

You hated him for that?  Stuff like that was one of his few endearing qualities imo.

told recruits he planned on being the winningest coach in college football history when all was said and done. and yes puni if he was a stud coach i would think this was awesome, but he was a stupid loser coach so i think he's a huge dumbass for saying it.

He made the defense run stairs for all the points they gave up  and made big josh fresh tropical piña coladas for every interception he tossed.

Gave his kids baseball lessons when I was in school. Had the wonderful opportunity to house sit for him a while he was job searching after being fired. Needless to say, guy didn't give a eff about many things including coaching our cats, but don't touch his Baileys.. DON'T

He used to come into Dara's every night and say "I need $40 on pump 6" and then would proceed to buy a 30 of Coors and a carton of Menthols.

The weird thing was that I never worked at Dara's and none of that is true. But it might be  :opcat:

Matt Wallerstedt's, as the legend goes. After a Catbacker event in Hays, I believe.

When KSU stud Matt left for the Air Force Academy (if memory serves), didn't he say, "Right job, wrong coach?"

Wasn't his first hire--before any assistant coaches--a female admin assistant with whom he worked somewhere before?

Heard she ended up with Raheem and Princess didn't like that.

In hindsight, we should be very glad that Prince isn't being compared to Paterno
