Tang will be paid $2.1 million in 2022-23 and will receive a $100,000 base salary increase each year remaining on the contract ($2.2 million in 2023-24, $2.3 million in 2024-25, $2.4 million in 2025-26, $2.5 million in 2026-27 and $2.6 million in 2027-28).This is less than I expectedWe'll lose potato face if we offer more. I think they are paying Tang what makes sense for both parties, huge raise for him and still a relatively cheap contract for KSU athletics. Just less than I thought it would be. But you think CK is going to leave kstate if the basketball coach makes anything within 1 million of him? Where's he gonna go? What school is going to hire CK at what he makes now or more? He's done an OK job, but no one is knocking on the door for him

That's a lot of skrilla for someone who has never been a HC before. This has all the red flags of disaster for the taters.

really impressed by Taylor here. this was about as clean a search as I can remember. apparently went after brad aggressively, and when that failed, still nabbed Tang. this is not a #fargosupperclub hire, which is what i expected coming into it.

They don't even have a finger on the pulse of what the process actually is. I bet Bill signed his contract via Fax fucksake.

When I was reading that thread yesterday, I would say the majority of posters thought it was a surprisingly good hire. So do I.
