Being ranked high is fun.  It's one of the only reasons I even pay attention to Cats sports.

I think it's more fun to win every week and climb up a couple spots each week like in 2012. jmho. #1 heading into Waco again?  :surprised:

doubt it. FSU's dog crap schedule won't have another L on it.

Yeah, not worried at all about ranking right now since we still have Baylor, WVU and TCU on the road.

I'm not sure your post makes sense.

think he means winning those games will move us up in the rankings to where we need to be for the cfb playoff. doesn't matter as much if we're not there yet.

True. Great post mixberry, in hindsight.

he didn't make that post, i did and he agreed with me, so if you're going to give credit to someone, give credit to me.

FSU hasn't looked unbeatable at all. It wouldn't be that surprising to see them slip up against some crappy team on their schedule.

yep, next week we find out how fair the committee is going to be.  I would love nothing more than for the AP/Coaches in football to become just as meaningless as the basketball rankings.

Maybe we can get a Big 12 homer in place.  Adrian Peterson?  :whistle1:

I don't think anyone itt mentioned a SEC bias but there is absolutely confirmation bias at play. All of the one loss SEC teams are a sign of balance but the one loss Big 12 and Pac 12 teams is a sign of the teams being tragically flawed.

And being Iowa State'y for us in this instance would be having two losses in a three way tie for the Big 12 Conference but complaining that we didn't get into the playoff because of a SEC bias.

meh, there's a bias, it isn't as bad as some folks make it out to be, but it's there.  I don't feel there should be five SEC teams ranked ahead of the highest ranked Big 12 team.

the most upsetting thing to me is a losery big 10 team being ranked ahead of the highest ranked big 12 team and, (in the coaches poll) being ranked ahead of a team they already lost to.

IMO it all goes back to the way they schedule - it's a trickle-down effect for having a "Top 10" South Carolina playing a "ranked" aTm right off the bat. Neither of these teams deserved to be ranked, but the teams that kicked the crap out of them got victories over "top 10 teams" in the eyes of the pollsters.

also as to computers: most of the SEC teams don't play an FCS team until later in the season, so that helps their SOS

agreed 100% its a bias that probably gets blown out of proportion sometimes and the SEC is overrated but our beef should be with teams ahead of us that are clearly overrated. Georgia lost to South Carolina who is putrid. Ohio state? Same thing, vt is not very good. Norte dame only has one good win vs a mediocre Stanford team and Oregon was embarrassed by Arizona. None of that really matters tho, we will see the real poll on Tuesday the 28th and the real gripes can start

Yes, great point. They just play the scheduling game better than anyone. Those November FCS games are horseshit as an outsider but brilliant if you're an SEC fan.
