Local shop just got a single case of this stuff...

Trignac XII Belgian Abbey Tripel.

Sadly couldn't partake this time, as I'm headed to the VA Hospital shortly for shoulder repair surgery. This stuff worth watching for again, anyone?

It's solid, not as floral as I'd want it to be but good. Side note, I'm in Canada eh for several months, any specific Canada beers I should try? The town I'm in has a few good places to drink, and some decent selections, but I honestly don't know much about (pronounced a boot) Canadian beers.

I would be really surprised if you ever saw a bottle of MvB in WV.  Do you beer trade, hang out with beer traders or go to bottle shares?  Those are your options.

Beer is so stupid. I'm never drinking it again.

those were my exact thoughts yesterday until about 3pm.  then i jumped right into another share and did it all over again.  fortunately yesterday I remembered to eat food which i didn't do Friday.

AST, I've recently begun to do some beer trade talks with some of the beard competition guys in Kentucky and Ohio. Also, I have a close friend that designs the labeling and whatnot for Ranger Creek out of Texas. Someone is bound to be able to hook me up...

if they can, take them up on it as it is an amazing sour.  best one i've had on tap at JK and they only get better in the bottle with a little bit of age.  i was pretty much set on keeping mine before i went and after i had it on tap, it sealed the deal.

Going to Colorado over the Easter weekend for a brewery binge. Planned on hitting Odell, Oskar Blues, Left Hand, and Boulder. Co-worker recommended Crooked Stave and Funkwerks for beers not available in KS. Any others I should try? (New Belgium tours are booked solid fyi)
You should definitely hit Funkwerks and Equinox in FoCo. Also, Avery in Boulder and Great Divide in Denver are good.

from the share last night.  Fen Tao (bottle not shown as a home-brewer wanted to take it for a bottling run) was the best to me, closely followed by Sirius Black , Oude Kriek & Kriek Lambiek both from De Cam as 2a-c.  5 was Blend Love.

I highly advise making friends with people that have way better beer than you and don't mind sharing.

i really really really like free state's (:tsc:) blue collar lager. Just about the perfect daytime beer.

defiance gutch is great. a real overachiever and great for pounding with greasy food.

very happy that halcyon is back. this is a great beer for handymanning, gardening, lawning, and any other outdoor sunshine activity.

is kansas the new global capitol of beer?
